Stuart Theobald fished the Mere and was rewarded with four carp and an unseasonal golden tench of around 2lb. Others fishing the Mere have been catching plenty of silver fish.

Something of a time warp report was received this week from Paul Leece who had a good session at Beckerings Reservoir in July 2011! Paul had mirrors of 26lb 8oz, 18lb 8oz, 16lb 8oz and 14lb along with a common of 17lb. Mark Ridgeway has put in a couple of sessions on Beckerings Reservoir. In Marks first session he landed seven to just under 19lb and during his second visit caught three low double commons and a 17lb mirror. The water level at Beckerings Reservoir is almost back to normal now and the Board are pleased to announce that the keepnet ban has been lifted.

Despite the reasonably mild temperatures for this time of year many anglers have preferred to stay at home but it is sometimes the best time to make some quality catches. Only a week ago I visited a syndicate water landing a personal best crucian carp of 3lb 6oz along with another crucian of 2lb 11oz, a 14lb common, bream to near 4lb and roach to 1lb during my six hour session so get out there and give it a go!
