The club is receiving many calls about membership at the moment. Members are reminded that the “club office” is only a contact number manned by volunteers – they are not able to answer some days or evenings. If you leave a message someone will return your call ASAP. Members are also reminded that you need to pay by cheque, cash or postal order to receive the £5 early joining discount. The books will be sent out around the end of April. Any member who has not paid the £3.50 charge for next seasons key will not be sent one and will be unable to enter our locked fisheries on 1st June.
There is one more work party before the end of the season so if you are able to lend a hand please visit the website and register your details.
Sunday 13th May Biddenham
As in previous years, attending a work party will mean you do not have to pay a work party levy if in an eligible membership class. It is important that all those that plan attending the Biddenham work party bring with them as many tools as possible to use on the day eg spades, shovels, hammers, rakes etc
We have received a photo of Gary Murray-Brooks 25lb 4oz common from the South Lagoon reported in last weeks column. Also sending in their photos following last weeks report was Stephen Duffy who had North House Lake commons of 26lb, 24lb, 20lb 4oz and 15lb 8oz along with mirrors of 23lb 12oz and 19lb.
Elliot Archer landed the mirror carp known as The Wanderer from North House Lake at 30lb along with another mirror of 21lb 8oz, Ric Iles had a 22lb 4oz common, Aaron Stapleton a 20lb 2oz mirror and 14lb 10oz common. Paul Tidmarsh was also at North House Lake between the 5th & 6th April and despite frosty conditions banked commons of 24lb 4oz, 21lb 4oz and 15lb 15oz.
At Beckerings Reservoir young Maisie Iles fished with her dad Ric and tempted a 20lb 4oz mirror, Mark Ridgeway caught four to 22lb 8oz and James Muncaster mirrors of 24lb and 23lb.
5 year old Callum Anderson fished the Grand Union Canal in Leighton Buzzard with his dad and and caught a 2lb perch along with some nice roach and bream.Chris Jarvis won the King of the Pond predator photo competition with his 11lb 12oz zander from the South Lagoon.
The winner of our April 2012 photo competition which closes on 30th April 2012 will receive a terrific Starmer Baits bait package. It is open to anyone (members and non members) submitting a digital photo taken on any Luton AC controlled water and it can be of absolutely anything eg a sunset on the canal, a nice fish, wildlife etc. The photos submitted cannot be over a month old, the judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result.
