There is a canoe race taking place on the Grand Union Canal on 23rd October 2011 between 10am & 2pm from the canoe launch area on Town South to Cooks Wharf at section 15 and back. Anglers are recommended to avoid that area of the canal as fishing will be severely disrupted due to the number of canoes, marshalls and spectators.

Tons of Tackle has opened next to the snooker club at Admiral Place High Street North Dunstable. They sell fresh bait including maggots and worms and are offering a 10% discount for LAC members on production of your membership book. They are also open late on a Thursday.

Angling’s representative body, the Angling Trust, has launched a web site for anglers to record sightings of cormorants, goosanders and mergansers throughout the UK. The site is easy to use and will gather vital data to help persuade government of the need for action to protect fisheries. Visit www.cormorantwatch.org

Please phone/text your catch reports from Luton AC waters to 07704462635 or email catchreports@lutonac.org and if you have pictures taken on your phone send picture messages to 07704462635. Remember to always use an unhooking mat when targetting specimen fish, keeping the fish as low to the ground as possible when taking photos.
