Angling Trust news release

In June and July this year (2012), the Angling Trust in Yorkshire and the Humber, will be running a casual county adult competition league, with a series of matches wehre the emphasis is on getting more people to take part in angling, more often and learn something new at the same time!

These competitions are aimed at people who wish to take their first steps in competition coarse fishing or the club angler who wants to improve their skills; in a friendly, casual setting where you can socialise and enjoy more of the sport.

To ensure that anglers get the most out of these events, England International Manager, Dick Clegg, OBE will be on hand to give advice about fishing techniques.

The events will take place on four consecutive Fridays: – 22nd June, 29th June, 6th July and 13th July, 2012; and matches will be held at Hayfield Lakes (nr Doncaster) from 6.30pm – 8.50pm (draw 5.15pm).

Prizes of tackle and bait will be awarded for section winners on the day and points will be awarded based on finishes, with the prizes for the overall league winner at the end of the 4 weeks.
