The great outdoors just got greater!

A unique lifestyle event, tipped to be the biggest open air outdoor lifestyle show in the UK, will take place this summer, offering visitors the chance to experience every outdoor pursuit under the sun.

Taking place over the weekend of 4th to 6th July, 2008, at Canford Park outdoor arena, conveniently located on the south coast close to Poole and Bournemouth, the Outdoor Lifestyle Show will transform the 35 acre event site into a striking and massive outdoor playground.

The show will offer visitors a potential ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity to experience a whole A to Z of activities, from archery to zorbing.  Appealing to all ages, the Outdoor Lifestyle Show will feature a whole array of interactive lifestyle activities from hot air ballooning to helicopter and hovercraft rides as well as 4×4 off roading, a rally car experience and quad biking.

In addition to partaking in action, visitors will be entertained throughout the weekend by the Red Devil parachute team, a flock of hot air balloons launched daily, and late evening fireworks displays.  Dedicated zoned marquees will showcase and retail a vast array of outdoor lifestyle related products and services from gardening to golf to green energy solutions.  The marquee zones split into the following areas:

•    The Wellness centre which is dedicated to those businesses involved with health, fitness and well-being.
•    The tourist tepee carrying information on all regional tourist attractions.
•    The Clubhouse for those organisations such as the scouts and sea cadets looking to generate memberships.
•    The All 4 Zone showcasing everything 4 x 4 and off road.
•    A Village Green featuring products and services for gardening and outdoor living as well as a country kitchen market showcasing local producers of food and drink.
•    The Green House which will exhibit environmentally friendly systems and products to make homes more energy efficient.

Embracing a healthy approach to living through the great outdoors means the Outdoor Lifestyle Show has a particular focus on protection and preservation of the natural environment.  As a result, all waste generated at the show will be recycled on site, and the showground will harness solar powered energy and use bio fuel.  To reinforce the healthy sustainable living message, all food available on site will be served from local suppliers where possible and will include BBQ’s, hog roasts, organic coffee bars and locally produced cider.

Managing director of show organiser, Outdoor Lifestyle Shows Ltd, Gary Robinson, explains the ethos behind the show: “We want to encourage three generations of a family to turn off the TVs and computers, and venture out into the best playground of all – the outdoors.  The Outdoor Lifestyle Show’s aim is to open people’s eyes to new activities and pastimes in their pursuit of a healthier lifestyle.  We are promoting a wholesome approach to living and we have the perfect venue to do so at Canford Magna Arena where we have 35 acres to play in, plus a 50 acre woodland, and 1,000 acres of MTB trail as well as giving us the perfect space for activities such as the 4×4 off road track, the mountain bike trails and the paintball war zone arena.  The fully fenced, self enclosed show ground estate offers great access, and we have 32 acres for car parking and a 42 acre camp site for those who want to come and make a weekend of it.  It’s an ideal venue for the show which will provide visitors with a real impression of space – perfect for our audience of outdoor lovers.”

The show has already attracted much attention from the Outdoor business fraternity.  “Our exhibitor profile is very broad as we want to attract visitors from all age groups and interest types,” continues Gary Robinson. “This is not an extreme sports show, although these do feature within the event.  Exhibitors already signed up range across everything outdoor lifestyle related, from camping and caravanning to hobbies such as fishing, sailing, scuba diving and motorbiking and encompassing home and garden interests such as BBQs, hot tubs and garden sheds.  The range of exhibitors and activities is almost limitless!  It’s anything and everything relating to the great outdoors.”

Tickets for The Outdoor Lifestyle Show go on sale via the website on Wednesday 2nd April 2008.
