Catch Reports
Goose Green

The following report comes from Jon Taylor:

I was not sure where to fish when I arrived at Goose Green, I saw Trevor  fishing Deep Lake so I went over & had chat, he was pulling out Roach & Bream using very light tackle 22 hook & pinkies.

So I decided to give Deep a try, I started over by the island, well it was a struggle, using light tackle and a single maggot, a few small Roach, & a couple of missed bites, then i noticed some larger fish were patrolling the far bank, a few nice Carp feeding off the top, so out goes my dog biscuit, within 10 minutes we were off and in the net a 9lb Carp, what a nice fish. The swim then went dead, Im still trying to catch, but was really struggling, I then decided to move closer to the far bank, I started with a nice Roach/Bream hybrid , then a few small Carp & Roach all on 18 hook, 1lbs 9oz line 4/6 elastic & a single white maggot

Bang, we hook into one of the carp, it ripped the line apart, I lost my hook length in the weeds so I set up again, off we go again small Carp & Roach, bang another Carp, well after it taking me through four swims with the weed in the way, I managed to steer it between the weed & and into the landing net, it weighed in at 6-8-0, im pleased to say there is some action to be had in Deep Lake
