Goose Green – Webmaster Mark “Spike” Emery, fished a short evening session on Friday evening, fishing floating bread Mark caught a solitary Common Carp off 8-0-0 off the top in the two hour session, also at Goose Green on Friday evening was Mike Simes, fishing pellet tight to the    island in Lake 3, Mike caught, Carp, Tench & Bream in the short evening session.

Terry Stillwell, fished Lake Three on Friday, with Ray & Sandy Emery, Terry, fishing the Waggler with corn and pellet on the hook, put together an all bream net for an estimated 40lb, Fishing to Terry’s right were Husband & Wife team Ray & Sandy Emery, Ray fishing the waggler in the margins, caught two carp, both of around 7-0-0 on cubed meat, Sandy alternating between the waggler and a straight bomb, put together a net of small silver fish for an estimated total net in excess of 10lb’s.
     

Earlier in the week the duo fished Deep Pond, where Sandy caught Roach, Rudd, Skimmers & Bream on the pole using red maggot, she also caught a carp but the tussle ended with the carp being victorious, Sandy got her own back on the lost leviathan later in the day, by landing four of it’s brethren to 9-8-0, Ray on the other hand decided he wanted to target some the of lakes larger residents, fishing the waggler he caught quality roach, skimmers, proper bream and tench, Ray also included three carp in his haul, the best being an 11-8-0 Ghostie (picture below).

Moor Farm – Webmaster Mark “Spike” Emery elected to fish Moor Farm last weekend instead of his usual recent haunt of Goose Green, Fishing the middle lake with a short pole and corn on the hook, Mark caught a steady succession of Tench, Crucian Carp & Roach, he also included three small carp in his haul, estimated at 25-0-0. Other anglers were seen to be catching steadily on the bottom lake, with one Junior angler landing 38 carp to 8-0-0 on the method feeder.
     
     
Annual Teach In
     
This is an annual event at which we give one to one tuition to novice anglers, preference is given to juniors. Methods used are Pole, Whip or Waggler with all tackle being supplied by the tutor, all of whom are experienced Pulborough AS members.

We have a lower age limit of seven years for safety reasons.  There is a morning and afternoon session, each lasting three hours, with tackle prizes being awarded for each session, in addition each pupil is given a small goodie bag containing useful tackle items. Hot food – burgers, hot dogs and bacon butties are served at breaks throughout the day, together with tea, coffee and cold drinks.

Work Parties

For the benefit of those who wish to come and help “the few”, we hold working parties at Goose Green every Saturday, starting at 0900hrs, all assistance gratefully accepted, even if you can only
    spare an hour – as the television advertisement states “Every Little Helps…..”

Angling Training

Pulborough AS offer a comprehensive training scheme to those who wish to take up angling as a sport/pastime, we offer three levels of training from novice to advanced, further information is available on our website www.pulboroughas.com or from the Society Training Officer ” Steve Moulding”, who can be contacted on 07762 019636.
 
The training scheme offered by Pulborough AS is highly successful, with some of our former pupils now representing the Society in matches at both  regional and national level.
     
     
Match Results
     
The result of the 3rd Evening Match fished by 13 anglers at Goose Green on Thursday 22/6/06 was

1st Mick Hall, 7.02kg (15lb 8oz) ,4 carp 2 bream to pole and worm.
2nd Nigel Aldridge, 6.27kg (13lb 13oz),2 carp plus skimmers to pole and pellet.
3rd Dave Banister,5.45kg (12lb) 3 bream 1 small carp to pole and pellet.
4th Barry Ginnaw,4.85kg (10lb 11oz) 3 bream plus bits to pole and corn.

The  Worthing Herald cup fished at Streatham Bridge on the River Adur by 5 anglers was won by Pulborough A.S. 9.520kg (21lb 1oz)  to Worthing D.P.S 2.67kg (5lb 13oz).
