Goose Green
This weekend saw anglers out  in droves at Goose Green, Terry Stillwell fished Lake 2 with a mix of waggler and feeder tactics with maggot hook baits, Terry caught roach to 0-8-0 and three carp the best being a fighting fit common of 11-0-0, to Terry’s left was webmaster Spike (Mark Emery), Mark fishing the pole towards the island caught roach, rudd & skimmers initially before a very quiet spell, however the wait was worth it in the end as he caught carp from 0-2-0 (yes you read it right) to a double figures, the best carp being an 11-8-0 mirror that put up a spectacular fight on Black Hydro.

On the adjacent bank to Terry & Mark, Chris & Shaun Groves were to be found, Chris fishing the short pole with pellet on the hook was witnessed to catch a steady run of roach & skimmers from the near side shelf, Shaun on the other hand was just showing off as he proceeded to catch bream, skimmers, roach and a small carp, Shaun fished the short pole close in and a feeder towards the island.

Pond 4 saw Ryan Giles fishing the whip with maggot on the hook for a net of roach & rudd of 13-4-0, Ryan was accompanied by  a friend (whose name I cannot remember at the moment), Ryan’s friend who was fishing for the first time ever today, caught roach & rudd on the whip for a net of 5-8-0.

Lake 3 saw Trevor Mordle fishing the short pole with pellet on the hook over his secret groundbait mix (when I find out what’s in it, I will let you know), Trevor caught 15 bream, skimmers and a lump of a carp, unfortunately Trevor also lost 2 carp, Trev’s total net for the day is estimated at 45 to 50lb.

Ray & Sandy Emery visited Goose again on Friday, this time the due elected to fish the Tench Pond, Ray fishing a small waggler at close range caught small tench, perch, roach, rudd and an Eel, Sandy once again on the pole caught tench to 3-8-0, plus Perch Roach & Rudd.

Terry Stillwell was to be found at Goose Green again today, fishing the feeder Terry caught skimmers and roach on maggot, also on Pond 3 were ray & Sandy Emery (again), Sandy fishing the pole with maggot on the hook, caught roach, tench to 2lb and a solitary carp for a net of 31lbs, Ray fishing his favourite method of the short whip, again with maggot on the hook, caught roach, skimmers and a single crucian for 15lb.

Over on Pond 4, Bill Hill was enjoying some early season silvers fishing, using the pole with maggot and/or pellet on the hook, Bill recorded a catch of 45lbs that comprised bream, roach, rudd & skimmers.

Ray & Sandy Emery are back on the bank again, now the weather is a bit warmer, fishing their regular haunt of Goose Green, the deadly due set up on Lake 2, Ray fishing a small 3m whip caught Roach, Rudd, Crucians and skimmers all on maggot for a total net approaching 15lb.

Sandy fishing in an adjacent swim to Ray, elected to use her pole, with maggot on the hook, an approach that yielded roach, rudd, skimmers & crucians for a total net of 20lb, also on Lake 2 was Goose stalwart Terry Stillwell, Terry fishing the waggler at short range also with maggot on the hook, caught bream & skimmers for a net in excess of 25lb

Moor Farm
Ron & Bill Hill took an early week excursion to Moor Farm, the brothers deciding to fish the top lake, both anglers fished the short pole with their secret formula paste on the hook, Ron ended the day with a net of tench & crucians for 55lb, whilst Bill had a 90lb net of tench & crucians – exceptional fishing.
