Rilmac Angling League on the Fossdyke Canal

The popular team of six league is once again set to run on the Fossdyke Canal, after the sponsors Rilmac pledged there support for another year.

The Fossdyke has already made headlines this winter with bumper nets of perch, roach and skimmers being taken from the Lincolnshire waterway. Sensas backed ace and venue regular Matt Godfrey said; “I can’t believe how well the canal has fished so far this year, with every section providing very consistent weights. The nice thing is, while there are more roach and ‘pommy’ hybrids than ever before there also seems to be just as many of the canals trademark bonus perch present, as well as the odd surprise tench. Interestingly, a lot of the best weights have been taken on baits such as bread punch and chopped worm and caster, meaning anglers have to do more than just fish bloodworm and joker in order to compete.”

Last year, the league attracted eight teams, but with a number of teams already enquiring about joining, the figure is almost certainly set to rise this year.
