Trout Fishing
Jim Johnson bagged up Thursday, he fished the middle peg just in front of the lodge. Jim hooked and landed 8 Trout up to the 5lb mark. His first fish was a fin perfect 4lb Blue Trout. All his fish were caught on a skinny Black Buzzer with Red cheeks. Local Angler Jock and friends had a brilliant day on Sunday, Jock, his 12 year old son William and Kevin took 24 fish between them in just four hours, Kevin had the best fish of the day weighing in at 6lb 8oz. Their fish were mainly caught from the right hand side of the Railway Pool, the most productive flies they found were either Black and Green Lures or Hare’s ear’s. Along with there 24 Trout, they also had 2 Perch, best Perch weighing just under 1lb. Recommended flies this week are small CDC’s, Hoppers and Klinkhammers if the fish are rising. Black and Green lures, Bloodworms and Buzzers if the! sun is bright and the fish are slightly deeper. The lakes are open from 7am until dark (roughly 10.00-10.30pm).
Coarse Fishing
Steve Wild had another good session Saturday, He set up on peg 21 and started getting bites from the off, he fished on his pole eight meters out. He used paste as his hook bait and landed 33lb 4oz of Carp, Bream and Tench. Steve’s best fish of the day was a cracking 10lb Common Carp. Rosevilla Travelers had there match on Sunday, the winning weight came off Peg one up in the reeds, results are as followed ; 27-0-0 D Dunning 20-5-0 J Kendall 13-7-0 C Talbat Young angler Rhys Farmer had a fantastic days sport on the Horseshoe Pool. At just 7 years old, Rhys had over 50 silver fish with help from his dad Gareth. They caught Roach to 7oz up in the water on maggot and caster.
