Shakespeare Championship Qualifier – Saturday August 7th, 2010 – Warwickshire Avon – Evesham Town Waters and Hampton Ferry – 65 pegs

The first bloodworm and joker allowed event of the season on the Warwickshire Avon at Evesham was fished on a gin clear and consistent weights were recorded throughout the Evesham Town and Hampton Ferry match length.

At the draw, Richie Reynolds said he wanted either Peg 49 or 50 and when he pulled out Peg 50 he started the match as favourite and made no mistakes, winning with 12-4-0 of roach all caught on bloodworm over groundbait and joker feed.

Riche’s record at the venue this season has been nothing short of phenomenal and the Quorn VDE team man must start as one of the clear favourites for the big August Bank Holiday finals. It was a close run thing this time though as next door, on Peg 51, Kamasan Starlets team man Hadrian Whittle ran him all the way and finished with 11-0-0 of bloodworm caught roach.
