The third edition of Fishing Show, the sports fishing event that will be held at BolognaFiere from 27 February to 2 March 2009, will include an important conference promoted by FIPO (Italian Federation of Sports Fishing Equipment Manufacturers and Professionals) in cooperation with the Region of Emilia Romagna (Department of Trade and Industry). The conference is titled: «Management of the aquatic habitat: science and sports fishing». Alongside the promoters of the event, the participants will include AIIAD (Italian Association of Freshwater Ichthyologists), FIPSAS (Italian Federation of Sports Fishing and Underwater Activities), ARCI PESCA FISA (Italian Sport and Environment Federation), and UNPeM (National Fly-Fishing Union).

The conference will examine the themes of restocking, biodiversity and sampling as applied to aquatic fauna. It will also look at the conditions of the freshwater and marine environments, and the significant question of their supervision and protection.

The importance of the event can in part be ascribed to the fact that for the first time, several of the parties involved will be able to table discussions together on how to activate all the synergic actions possible, linked to the various factors involved in fishing. The objective is to reach agreement on operational decisions, working together on the management of the aquatic environment and its resources.

The conference will be held at the Concert Hall at Centro Servizi, BolognaFiere, on Saturday 28 February 2009, at 2 pm. Further information is available at the website www.fishingshow.it
