Tracey Jones from Etang de Brigueuil has been in touch to tell us of a fish that gave two of their carp anglers a bit of a surprise during a nights fishing – a 35lb pike!
They thought at first it was one of Etang’s large grass carp and were getting excited at the prospect of being the first to bank one from the water and had one eye towards the elusive bottle of champagne that awaits the first grass carp capture, when to their surprise a very large pike loomed up out of the depths!
The past month has also saw lots of nice carp being banked at the venue, the biggest of which were 3 nice mirrors, 18.5kg (41lb) from swim 1, another at 18.7kg (42lb) also swim 1 (the same guy) and 18kg (39lb) from swim 12. In the same week, two at around 30lb came out at opposite sides of the lake, namely swim 1 again and 9. Numerous 20’s have come from swim 8, 10, and 11.
