There is still some space for late comers in the Angling Trust’s annual affiliated clubs’ boat festival at Leigh-on-Sea on the Thames estuary on May 30/31, 2009. Top prize is £500.
Organisers expect plenty of smooth hound and thornbacks, which arrived in March, on the popular Thames marks and recommend peeler or hermit crab bait Early bass and tope may also be further out in the estuary.
