The trout fishery is now open late 7 days a week till 9pm for evening sessions.
Another excellent week for fishing at Wellsfield Fishery for fly and bait fishers. Many anglers bagged their fish limits with fish over the week. Over 375 trout were caught, average weight of 3lb and many fish in the 4lb – 12lb range, with rainbows, blues and brown trout featuring in the catch returns.
Largest fish of the week was a 15lb 12oz Rainbow Trout caught by D Baird (Grangemouth) see photo below.
One £50 Red Tagged trout were caught this week. Lucky angler was H Morgan (Denny).
Best flies: HH Damsel, Yellow Dancer, Buzzers, PTN, Diawl Bach.
Best Baits: Maggot / Worm cocktail, Mepps Spinners.
