The increased stocking program continues and fantastic sport was had at Wellsfield this week with plenty of trout caught on all 3 lochans for fly and bait anglers. Average trout size was 3lb 1oz, with many in the 4lb – 5lb range.
TWO specimens was caught this week: A 12lb rainbow by Mr Lawrie (Bathgate) using lures in his bag of 3 fish for 18lb 8oz, and a 9lb rainbow for Mr Loudon (Falkirk) using orange powerbait in his 4 for 21lb.
ONE Yellow £50 Prize Tagged Trout was caught by lucky angler Mr Rutherford (Camelon) using diawl bachs.
Best flies this week: Firedancer, UV Grizzlecats, Coral Dancer, Black/Green Fritz, Epoxy Buzzers, PTN, Hares Ear Nymph, Hot Head Damsel.
Best bait: Power Bait, Power Pellets, Maggots and Spinners.
