Good fishing again this week at Wellsfield due to the increased stocking program. Plenty of big fish caught again this week, the average weight was 3lb 2oz with many in the 4lb+ range. Many anglers bagged their limits using the correct depth of retrieval. Intermediate DI3 lines or sink tips are now working well, fished at depth or a floater with a long leader.
The fishery is open 8am till 5pm 7 days a week.
Many troutmaster specimens were caught this week, including:
13lb rainbow by Mr Gibson (Alloa) in his 5 for 22lb.
11lb rainbow by Mr Reid (Falkirk) in his 4 for 19lb.
9lb rainbow by Mr Oliver (Kirkintilloch) in his 2 for 13lb.
Two red tagged trout were caught this week by lucky anglers Mr Inglis (Kincardine) 4lb 8oz rainbow and Mr Young (Twechar) 4lb rainbow winning them both £50. There are loads of red tagged trout (£50 prize) and white tagged trout (£500) in the lochans to be caught by lucky anglers.
Best flies this week were: Sparklers, Montana Nymphs, Cormorant, Yellow Dancer. Best bait: Power Bait, Taz’s, Toby’s, Mepp Spinners, Worms, Maggots.
