Over 400 trout were caught again over the course of the week. Rainbows, Blues and Browns. Average weight of 3lb 2oz and many fish in the 4lb – 18lb range.
James Brogan (Airdrie) caught an 18lb fully finned rainbow trout, which so far is the record fish for 2011 and won him the Troutmasters Competition on Sunday with 5 fish for 28lb in weight. Second place was George Pirrie (Cambusbarron) with 3 fish for 19lb, best fish a 13lb 8oz rainbow trout. The Troutmasters Juniors was won by Jonathan Ewart (Cumbernauld).
Five Double Figure Trout were caught this week, the largest being a 16lb rainbow trout. Many large doubles are being stocked every week at the moment as part of the increased stocking program.
