Good fishing again this week at Wellsfield due to the increased stocking program, many anglers bagged their fish limits. Average catch 3.5 trout per rod, average weight was 3lb. Intermediate DI3 lines or sink tips are still working well, fished at depth or a floater with a long leader.
Many troutmaster specimens were caught this week, including:
11lb rainbow by Mr Shearer (Cumbernauld) in his 3 for 17lb.
10lb rainbow, by Mr King (Cumbernauld) in his 5 for 20lb.
8lb rainbow by Mr Bow (Denny) in his 4 for 21lb.
7lb rainbow by Mr Kenna (Bonnybridge) in his 2 for 10lb.
TWO red tagged trout were caught at the weekend by lucky anglers Mr Jones (Dunfermline) and Mr M Goodman (Wales) winning them both £50. There are loads of red tagged trout (£50 prize) and white tagged trout (£500) in the lochans to be caught by lucky anglers.
Best flies this week were: Balck & Green Fritz, Black PTN, Goldhead Nymphs, Bloodworm, Yellow Dancer. Best bait: Power Bait, Toby’s, Mepp Spinners, Worms, Maggots.
