The Wellsfield Kingfishers Junior Club has started up and requires new junior members under the age of 16 years. Classes to learn to fly fish, spin and bait fish, tie flies and get fishing advice are available as well as discounts on fishing permits and tackle. Wellsfield Fishery is now offering “Learn to Fish” Fly Fishing & Bait Fishing Lessons for children and adults. All equipment is provided including a fishing permit to catch trout on the lochans. To book lessons call 01324 822800. Childrens lessons are free if accompanied by a paying adult.
The evening sessions continue and the fishery is open from 8am till 10pm, 7 days.

ONE Yellow Prize Tagged Trout were caught this week – Mr Jenkins (Falkirk) from the bait pond winning him £50. Yellow £50 Tags are stocked weekly. There are plenty tags still in the water including two £500 White Tagged Fish!
THREE specimen trout were caught this week:
Mr McGlinn (Falkirk) 5 for 22lb, caught a fully finned 11lb rainbow from the top pond in his 5 for 22lb on buzers, Mr McDonald (Alloa) caught 5 fish for 21lb, the biggest being a 10lb 2oz rainbow using powerbait and Mr Dougall (Alva) caught 4 fish for 16lb, best an 8lb rainbow using lures.
Best flies this week: Claret Hopper, Black/Orange Cheek Buzzer, Green Pea and Black Zonkers fished on a floating/intermediate line. Best bait: White Powerbait, Maggots, Mepp Spinners.
