The 2005 Flymasters Champions Final was won jointly by Jock Esplin (Bonnybridge) and George Pirie (Cambusbarron) on Sunday. The newly extended 5-acre Top Fly Pond looks great and is fishing well with nymphs and lures.
The warmer weather has got the fish on the rise taking small flies and buzzers on the surface. Catch rates are very high due to the large number of stock in each ponds. The fishery is open till 7pm 7 days a week for evening sessions, The two fly ponds and the bait & spinning pond are fishing extremely well at the moment with many fish in the 3lb – 5lb range.
Three specimens were caught this week – Davy Bell (Denny) landed a cracking 10lb rainbow in his 3 for 16lb 8oz using fly. A 12lb 8oz rainbow was landed by A Henderson (Falkirk) on a Hot Head Damsel in his 4 for 23lb. D Smith (S’Muir) landed a fine 8lb rainbow while spinning a toby in his 4 for 16lb 8oz from the bait pond. 1 Yellow Tag worth £50 was caught by lucky angler Mr A Young (Camelon) on a Black Nomad.
