It was a busy week at the fishery and many fish were caught now that the Top Fly Pond extension is open. The fishery now has 100 fishing pegs in total. The top fly pond is now double its original size with 45 fishing pegs.
The fishery is open till 7pm 7 days a week for evening sessions. All ponds are fishing very well indeed. The two fly ponds and the bait & spinning pond are fishing extremely well at the moment with many fish in the 3lb – 5lb range with a few larger specimens in the 8lb – 12lb range.
Two specimens were caught this week – a 11lb rainbow for G Docherty (Falkirk) on a Damsel Nymph in his 4 for 23lb 4oz. D Smith (S’Muir) landed a fine 9lb 6oz rainbow while spinning meps in his 3 for 17lb form the bait pond. 1 Yellow Tag worth £50 was caught by lucky angler K Ferries (Bathgate) using Lobworm.
