All 3 lochans are fishing well, particularly the middle fly pond and the bait pond. Again many fish were caught this week using both fly and bait. The average fish weight was 3lb 2oz and many fish in the 4-5lb category were caught over the week.
Yellow Dancer, Olive Damsels, Fritz’s and Blobs worked well for fly fishers. For bait anglers Spinner-meps, Powerbait, Maggots and worms were most successful.
Andy Mason (Grangemouth), a long term regular caught a £50 Yellow Prize Tagged fish on Sunday in his 3 for 11lb, best fish 4lb. There are still plenty of Yellow £50 prize tags being stocked each week and the £500 White prize tags are also still in the ponds to be caught.
One double figure specimen trout was caught this week – a cracking rainbow of 12lb from the bait pond for Mr Allan (Laurieston) in his 5 for 25lb using nymphs.
