Witton Castle Lakes welcomed 56 anglers with a rod average is 2.52 which should increase now the weeds have now been cut. Please contact the fishery office for the latest news on weed cutting at the lakes.

Fishery officer John Renshaw reports: ‘Fish are feeding on and just below the surface. Must-have flies in your box this week: Damsels, CDC’s, Olive ‘F’ flies, daddies and hare’s ear. Best method used floating line, long leader with a buzzer on the dropper.

The lakes have introduced a ‘Super Sunday’ all day ticket. Sunday all day catch and release ticket £10 and two fish keep ticket £20. Commencing Monday 3rd September the lakes will now close on ‘Mondays’ only.
