Week Ending 18th March by Anne Woodcock

Another good week of weather and fishing at Witton Castle Lakes, with 74 anglers and a total catch of 400 fish, averaging a visit of 5.4 fish per angler.

Saturday produced a good turn-out with some highlights for the season so far;

Junior angler Connor Metcalf caught a beautiful 9lb fish using an Olive Dancer on the South lake (picture below), followed by Brian Conway’s 9lb fish also caught on the South lake using a self tied ‘magical ball of fluff’! Well done to both.

The clubs ladies turned out in force during the weekend. Mrs. Cartmail joined her husband for the first visit of the season and shared their 15 fish catch.

Since the start of the season the club has introduced customer feedback sheets.
Thank you to all of our customers for their feedback.

“A fantastic day and my best fishing of the season so far”, “wonderful lakes and great healthy fish”. Mr Jameson, Bishop Auckland.
