With a drop of extra water on the river, expectations were high for the last of the Wychavon Qualifiers of 2012. Coming out on top from peg 45 was Clive Branson, who found quality roach on hempseed fished down the middle of the river. The former Welsh International loosefed hemp on a long pole line, and fished a strung out rig over the top, with roach to 1lb coming to his net.
Another Welshman – Last years Shakespeare Champion Andy Murphy romped home in second spot. Drawn on peg 17, Spud caught eels and perch early on chopped worm and caster, before finding roach on hempseed later on in the day.
Evesham regular Trevor Chalk took third spot. Drawn on peg 67, Trevor caught eels and perch on chopped worm and caster for a 9-5-0 finish.
