Customer review by John Francis

When it comes to the warmer months I enjoy overnighters and have been on the look out for a simple shelter at the right money and the CK Stakeout is the ideal solution.

I don’t really do ‘long stay’ sessions so a brolly-style bivvy is perfect as it takes seconds to put up but I can still get my bedchair inside.

The material seems durable enough and the storm sides and groundsheet add further protection.

I have to say the picture on the Dragon website doesn’t do the Stakeout justice as in real life the green is much more of a traditional ‘carpers green’ and once erected and pegged correctly, it is very rigid indeed.

CK Stakeout MK2 Brolly Shelter

I’ve looked at a few shelters of this kind and you can pay over £100 for them so at thirty quid you can’t go wrong.

Over the years I’ve bought numerous items from Dragon and I have to say I’ve been very pleased – personally I carefully select each piece as not everything is for me – I tend to invest in the ‘better’ gear.

The brolly is 60 inch so it’s also handy for day sessions with your mate as you can get two seats under it.

One final point is the ease of putting it up and down, since having it I’ve never once been put off from quickly moving swims to get on to fish whereas anglers with big bivvy systems can be reluctant to set up camp again. Quick moves are a huge advantage on most rivers or lakes.
