Trout Ball By Greg Keeler

Trout BallThe Trout Ball website can be viewed at http://www.troutball.com

Reflecting and caricaturing some of the standard prejudices, which are obviously just as widespread in America as in the UK, worms versus flies, whitefish (coarse fish) versus trout, and not forgetting the erotic influences of neoprene and WD40, covering even the perilous pitfalls pursuant to possession of penknives of the Swiss army genus, this CD combines some very nice guitar playing with some absolutely nutty and satirical songs and poems.

It may not be every Englishman's cup of tea, as many of the songs and especially the poems have a distinctly American flavour, but most people will immediately recognise the tunes.

Strange really, I always thought "Greensleeves" was the result of unhooking bream without rolling your sleeves up, or something along those lines! How wrong can you get?!

Friends of zany humour with a strong American flavour will enjoy it. The next time you have a barbecue with a few fishing friends, (I recommend a couple of purist trout dry-fly men, a dedicated carp specialist, several match-men, and a few 'normal' anglers!), put this CD on and get ready for an argument !!!!

Tight lines!

Editors Note: Having now heard this CD, I must admit to having a few chuckles at the way Greg Keeler has adapted some very well tunes to the benefit of the trout angler. A particular favourite is 'Favourite Baits', heavily influenced by The Sound Of Music!

"Little chunks cut from road-kill that's grown warty,
Marshmallows scented with WD40,
Big Bouyant worms a shot needle inflates,
These are a few of my favourite baits."

Greg obviously doesn't look at the world in the same way as the majority of 'normal' people and the result is some sort of American Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson of the angling world. Have a look at the Trout Ball site - living proof that fishermen can have a sense of humour.
