Do you really need a marker float? If you are serious about finding out about the water and the lake bed in front of you, then yes, you really need a marker float. A good marker float set up allows any angler to find out exactly what is in front of them when they turn up at an apparently featureless swim. By casting out an effective marker rig and taking some time to examine the topography of the lake, it enables the carper to increase his chances of catching.
