Hi, I’m using casters and every time I catapult them they go totally the wrong way due to the wind. Can you help me please?
From Middyman

It sounds as though the elastic on your catapult could be too strong. Also, when it’s windy it’s best to fire low, and it also helps if you feed at an angle across the wind rather than directly into it.

On the strike when pole fishing is it best to lift straight up into the fish or strike to the side?

Could you please e-mail me a picture of you? Thanks and all the best in your next World Championships.
From Ricky Hulme

Generally upwards with a short firm movement is best. Better striking is one of the advantages of the pole as you’re directly above the float, making hooking easier.

I’ve only just gone online and so I’m only just getting used to the internet. As soon as I have I’ll send you a picture.

Can you tell me what type of groundbait to use in a feeder when fishing a fast weirpool?
From Middyman

I’d recommend Van den Eynde "JVS Superfeeder". It’s quite sticky and in these circumstances you want the groundbait to stay in the feeder for some time, so squeeze hard and this way you’ll get a slow release.
