Charity Farm Sun 20 Jan 2008
Our first proper outing this year!
WOW! Back at charity farm - no frost just the usual terrential downpour!
The original plan was to fish at Orell Resevoir in preparation fo rthe match that we are intending to start fishing very soon. I picked Stu up at 9:30ish and headed off for the tackle shop to buy some maggots.
What?!? Closed? Oh well we have corn, meat and pellets on us so lets go to the trusted favourite Charity farm instead!
Arrived and were fishing by about 10:45. We chose pond 1.
Weird being back it seems like months since I last fished! The day was slow with very few bites.
I decided to fish very close in with meat as the preffered bait.
Not much else to say really, I caught a smallish carp probably about 2 1/2 pounds, still a fish is a fish and that means 1-0 me. Knew I had to be back quite early so was chuffed to have caught.
Stu was very quiet and seemed to have his concentrating head on. I joked that I would let him have my next fish.
Double corn on fished 3 sections out to my left. Float under - Strike - Fish on! Damn I only have 8s elastic on and this thing feels heavy. Oh well it will serve me right to lose this I should have used a stronger top. 10 minutes of a fight and the fish is mine. Weighed just over 7lb.
Now Stu really is upset especially when I say I am packing up. "5 more minutes" is the response.
Next minutes Mr Glynn has a smail on his face as "I think I have foul hooked a skimmer". Couple of minutes later, Stu has a smallish carp (bigger than my first) in the net.
Not bad 2-1 me time to pack up and go home.
Next outing should be next saturday to fish a match, unfortunately Mr Glynn has an eye appointment (he cant belive his eyes as to how I beat him every week ) so we may venture out for a small session on Sunday
Will add the winning fish soon
