River Kennet - Nr. Thatcham

1800 - 0000

Overcast, 20º -> 15ºC but felt a lot cooler fishing an exposed swim in a stiffish breeze - had the thermals on by 8 o'clock! River a little on the low side.

3 Barbel: 9lb 12oz, 8lb 5oz, 7lb 6oz.

A trio of terrific hard fighting barbel. First fish (the smallest) just after 2100 followed by the biggest just on 2300 with the 8lber on the stroke of midnight as I was about to pack up. All fish on 14mm halibuts - no activity from signals which is always a good sign!

Well done Chris, sounds like a great evenings fishing. Barbel looks in fantastic condition and clearly has been munching! N
