  1. Reading it, it does appear your summing up is correct. The U.K. will continue to contribute towards the Defence of the EU with monies and troops. Under Article 6 (“the Union and the United Kingdom shall use their best endeavours to conclude and ratify such an agreement before 1 July 2020.”), best endeavours means jack shite in Law, so what it means is, if the EU refuse to budge on their demand for full access to U.K. Territorial Waters then they will continue to have full access. The deadline has passed, THIS is in breach of International Law under the jurisdiction of The UN. There are more but those are the two that concern me. Certain elements of our so called ‘representatives’ are continuing to sell out the majority for their fifty pieces of silver. The ONLY Law that matters to me is U.K. law. Where was this supposed sudden adherence by one and all when Saddam invaded Kuwait or when various foreign powers were blowing airplanes from the skies amongst a thousand others examples. ”Feck off” should have been the reply to the EU today and five years ago.

  3. No.2 looks suspiciously like what I would call a 'tucked half blood knot' over here. But what do I know, I've only just progressed from velcro strapped shoes ! ?

  4. That’s exactly what I normally do when mounting meat directly onto the hook Ian, but very occasionally if the luncheon meat is not very firm and I’m needing to cast a fair distance with a largish chunk of meat on a hair rig it can still fly off during the cast if you are not careful. I carry some of these (see pic in link)for times like these. https://barbel.co.uk/product/enterprise-meat-mate/ Keith

  5. Well, the Bacon Grill worked well & got me 5 decent Carp between maybe 6 - 10 Lb. in the Last hour or so (couldn't buy a bite till around half past three but that's how it it at Kippax sometimes. The Luncheon meat was very poor in quality & texture so I'll just chop the rest up for loose feed (at least it sinks OK)

  9. Haha I know why I am fat ,no excuses I eat sweeties and nice food and I don't walk to the shop to get them lol What's your excuse for being tall and thin? Now the bulk of Brits are overweight the thin ones have the problems Would I be fat if I stored it in my butt and be a African American wummun ?I have read articals asking how to store fat in black asses and they were not about donkeys lol The doc said he would text me when my results turned up !to date nothing and no mention of an appointment to have another

  10. I just use grass, or a hawthorn spike. Even if putting the meat straight onto the hook, just pull the hook through the meat, twist it and put a piece of grass stalk, twig, hawthorn spike or whatever under the bend and pull on the line or press the hook back to synch it up.

  11. ALL, YES, my bad, I failed to identify the knots by name. I agree with both posts - hard to go 3 on 1, especially when the "one" doesn't have the patience they used to. I would go exclusively with the Palomar knot except BB hit the nail on the head. The pre-matched combo, rod and reel, I purchased comes preloaded with anchor wire (I believe). At least 12 and maybe 15 lb. In as much as we were going to be catching "dinks" my hook selection was #8. That left out the possibility of using a palomar. BARELY get the line through the eye once When I was 10 I didn't have a clue what a palomar was, if it even existed in fishing. NOW on to the second knot. In the US it is commonly referred to as a "Trilene" knot. It is, I Guess you would call it an "improved cinch" knot (?). The primary problem seemed to be with the kids, spastic, with zero attention span and little pride when the job was done correctly. Toward the end I came to believe KOOL-AID should be banned from the planet. I had no other explanation. (Of course it couldn't have anything to do with the instructor) Phone

  12. The first one looks like a Palomar knot to me, no need for any other funny business at that age. Trying to teach three at the same time is never going to work Phone. https://www.animatedknots.com/fishing-knots

  13. Nikon were the ones who broke the F8 barrier by realising the quality of the lens did not have to go across the whole lens but just the centre as that was usually where the subject was. There was then a sudden surge in usage from the newspaper photographers, almost every shot of a group of them was a sea of Nikon’s. Nevermind putting the ISO, or, ASA into the camera, I remember when the setting on the camera was only there to remind you what film you had loaded so you could set the exposure meter correctly, it was separate. Before you took a photo you would turn the camera around and look at the depth of field and focus range which, after all is what the aperture is all about, or was! No SLR then. I can still use a single shot bellows camera which are far superior to cameras today simply because you only got one shot and couldn’t make stupid mistakes. Minolta got merged with Konica, might still be about. It was equally important that the end process used a similar quality lens to the photographer, I always used Rodenstock lenses in my enlarger, a lot complained after buying decent equipment that results were no better without realising this simple fact. At the end of the day, most cameras now are similar and are very suitable for the use they are put to, photographing what you are eating and putting the photos on social media. Us weirdos look at fish pictures, looking at Martin’s they are good enough for purpose. I have a digital camera I bought for the wife, it is brilliant and cheap but as with most things she has lost it in the house somewhere. But to finish I would recommend the free prints app, brilliant.
