  1. Just in case someone was after some smaller kayaks for in the surf or their children. Listed on ebay as free listing day and I am going to purchase another motorbike for green laning my ebay stuff for sale
  2. Stuff for sale that might interest some people For sale
  3. Not been fishing since Richis Conger meet (sept 07) and nowhere to store my stuff... working 55-60 hours per week at work and bought a new motorbike http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZs2vto Just if any of you were interested.
  4. Ingenious Very clever idea. I did have problems unhooking from a buoy once and the kayak was side on against the flow of water. Very hairy moment. I unclipped (just) and went back to get line.
  5. you can still get scupper pros, just but they do fill with water if you weigh a bit I weigh 13 1/2 stone and it was full bit dissapointed as I was going to get one
  6. Ditto, as above I fancy getting a baby yak just for playing in the surf and light estuary fishing! Or even better for the wife! what a good reason to buy one
  7. I agree this post is not funny!
  8. Richi is one, if not the most experienced kayak fisherman in the country! I think he has more knowledge and experience than most The bic kayaks work for Maidstone Mike but for fishing purposes I dont think they have the correct design. I have seen them in the flesh but never paddled one so cannot comment on them but it makes sense that experience and knowledge wins hands over. I dont know of any 'real' fisherman that use bic kayaks! Maidstonemike can love his bic as much as he wants but should not give reviews that are not entirely true as newbies will get the wrong idea Marmite - you either love them or hate them

    St Davids

There are plenty of fish to be caught fromSt Davids Wrasse in numbers Plenty of double figure Bull Huss and Conger at night Bass, flounder, dab, whiting, pollack etc Lots of good spots around the head but big fish hard to land, I have lost many double figure Huss there but landed a 15lb conger Conditions can be rough, never been out there on a kayak. The surf from the beach would make it difficult to launch
  10. If you want to have a potch light fishing, paddle short distances and playing about in the surf then the 100 would be ideal. But anything else you would need a bigger kayak! The best thing is to have 2 or more I nearlly have 2 but still would like a small one for fishing the estuary and playing in the surf, and a Tarpon 100 is on the list of possibilities Distances I would get Scupper pro / Tarpon 160 / Dorado / Marlin/Pelican General all round: P13 / Tarpon 140 / Prowler Elite Short distances playing in the surf: mini x / tarpon 100 / frenzy Comfort fishing not much paddling Big game / drifter 2 up: malibu 2 xl Money no object: All of the above This is just my personal opinion
  11. You need to do your homework first mate, there are loads of similar posts to yours on here already use the search function The malibu 2 is ideal for 2 people but hard work if just 1 Read up and then ask the questions and people are more than willing to help welcome to the forum
  12. The Tarpon 100 would be a little bit too small in my opinion. I have paddled a 120 and that is a tad too small too The 140 would suit you better You will end up buying a bigger kayak soon if you bought the 100 It is ideal to chuck in the back though and for short distances The 100s sell like hot cakes so I pressume they are good
  13. Kayak average of £500 Paddle £30-100 Trolley £50-80.00 VHF £60-100 Drysuit/dry top & Trousers £150-200 GPS £80 Flares £7 up That is the basic setup in my opinion
  14. First thing I done was buy a cheap sit on top kayak with paddle for £180 second hand just to see if I liked kayking. Your best bet is to use the search function on here as there is a lot to take in and a lot of it is down to personal preference Also look here: Getting started You can spend as much as you want but you will get what you pay for! Hope that helps and welcome
