  1. I bought a replacement foam tractor seat (no witty comments please) from a grass cutting tractors. Bloody great thing, fully waterproof and fits the shape of the OK seat supplied with the Elite. Word of warning though, dont use to many as you decrese the stability of the Yak
  2. Well I am more than happy to write on the art of being "wiped out in the surf"! I am a master at it. Can also do another on how to loose gear on a regular basis
  3. Sit side saddle mate! The rods go in the rear holders when geting to the mark....
  4. After a night session the other evening, decided to change the layout of the Yak. The rod holders where catching on the side and needed to be mounted higher. Put a 15mm Phlonic backing plate and raised the holders....all fixed now, holders rotate freely and feel very secure
  5. I dont know if anyone besides me watches "Coast", but there was in the episode about the North of Scotland and outer islands and a guy on there who Kayaked 700 Miles around Scotland and the associated Islands. He was asked how stable and safe his Kayak was, and he said he would feel safer in the huge swells and bad weather around Scotland and the slands than a 17ft boat! Some of the footage was spectacular in the huge swells and surf. Although this is not verbatim from the episode, I think a guy who has Kayaked in this area and for this distance should be listened to,(not forgetting our own experience)
  6. Well I have an Elite and its bloody great. Really stable fishing platform and quick on the water. Have no complaints at all. If you are fitting a fishfinder , buy a humminbird series and the boot to fit it. I bought a garmin and the plug from the transducer to the unit head doesnt fit through the scupper hole...expensive mistake! Its apparently designed for the humminbird series
  7. I have found that using a dremmel gives so much fine adjustment to the rivet holes, and takes away the chance of having a standard drill and bit biting and going through the outer hull....as nearly did it myself fitting well nuts!
  8. Also hoping to join Richi tmrw depending on wind, as have not tried out drysuit yet! send me PM and I'll give you the local report...interesting
  9. Seeing as we have a weather/tide thread going, for anyone interested I use CHIMET.co.uk it is about the best I have seen and gives the weather wind tide etc for the Chichester/Hayling/Southampton area as live data, which is also very easy to understand. Also its WAP enabled so you can get it on your phone etc, best site for Eastern Approaches to the Solent around
  10. Any chance of seeing some pics of the beast?
  11. On a serious note...It does improve your touch ledgering and bite detection!!!!!!
  12. I have the Elite and have binned the centre box for my Fishfinder and GPS mount. found the box to small for anything usefull. I always fish running ledger so keep ready made traces in wallet in my centre well, and leads in there.....only a suggestion
  13. Its good to see we have a few converts!
  14. There is about 40Mts on there. The best thing is the Ratchet, can be engaged or disengaged, idea for free-spooling the anchor out. The cord is 5mm,a bit thick I know I expect you would most prob get 60-70mts of 3mm on there. I Paid about £12 for mine, second hand inc P&P
