  1. Going on holiday to the above park in the Summer, which has it's own Coarse fishing and access to apparently good sea fishing. Anyone been there? Got any advice? Are there Pike in the Loch(s)? Cheers Garyh
  2. South Gare can be a good venue, but can be dangerous in rough seas, and it can be "tackle hungry". Saltburn Pier is easy access and you don't have to cast great distances; it's clean ground so you don't lose much gear. On it's day it can fish well.
  3. Going to Brighouse Bay near Kirkubright for a Holiday July/Aug (Caravan site with "access to sea fishing"). Can anyone give me any advice on where to fish / tackle /methods etc? Also any venues nearby where access is easy & safe (kids fish with me). Tight lines.
  4. I am looking for a cottage for hire in Scotland, no more than 2 hours drive from the border. It must have it's own fishing (for 4 rods, my wife and 2 kids all fish) for Trout or Salmon. Any reccomendations? Gary (gary.huckins@ntlworld.com)
  5. Big dissapointment, thought this would be cotages WITH FISHING. Ther are plenty of sites listing cottages already!
  6. Maggot would be good - sweetcorn (really!) is also good. If it's so easy on bait why not try fly fishing - it is real fun at a place like this. And if you fish with semi barbed hooks and give them slack, they will probably get off at the last minute!

  8. There a quite a few "big pike" venues around this area, however I just enjoy catching Pike, don;t care what size. Which lochs are best stocked with Pike? I would rather catch 2 or 3 under 10 rather than a twenty plus..... It's a bit dispiriting fishing Loch Heron all day and not getting a run. I am interested in Kirwaugh, Ballaird aNd Elrig near Port William (NOT Eldrig near Glenluce  ) . As you will see I am particularly interested in the Machars area - there are quite a few v small lochs not listed on guides - are there any lesser known jewels? huckinsgn@koppers-europe.com
