  1. Got to agree with you there newt. Some of the photos are amazing and the information mind boggling.
  2. Just came across this interesting site and thought i would share it with you all. Enjoy. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html Some stunning photography too.
  3. Thanks for all your answers gentlemen. I checked the resrictions and they where resident parking between 09:00 - 18:00 only. I parked there from 06:00 on the 14/11/10 to 19:45 on the 15/11/10. I recieved One ticket at 09:15 on the 14th and One at 09:13 on the 15th. Though only One was on my windscreen when i returned to the car and thus i only paid One fine. I am now being chased for the other ticket with the fine now £70 increasing to £130 if i dont paid in 28 days. It says on my latest corresponce with the council that they can issue Two tickets as the contravention occurs over Two separate 24hour day periods and are therefore served correctly! Robbing people with no parents !!!!!! Makes me so angry. I have just sent off an appeal to the traffic penalty tribunal.
  4. Once a month i good to London on work and park in the same street about half a mile from the train station. As i am normally in a rush and it is 06:00 in the morning i did not see that the street in question had had parking restriction inposed on it i.e residents parking only from 18:00 to 08:00 On my return i find that i had a parking ticket which i duly paid on time. Sometime later i receive a letter indicating that i have not paid the fine and thus i now owed them £70. Sent off my credit card statement indicating that i had paid them. I have now received a letter saying that i was issued with Two parking tickets and it is the second one that i have not paid. How do i stand in that when i arrived at my car there was clearly only One ticket stuck to my windscreen and thus i paid only One fine. I am going to appeal to the Independant Adjudicators. I need to go back to the seen and check what time you can park, as both the tickets where issued at 09:15. Anyone know where i stand on this, as i am rather peved off.
  5. Thanks for sharing that with us Ken L. Some amazing photo's on there, my top 3 in no particular order. 2 -Thunderstorm 16- Lightening strike 41- Heavyload
  6. With the uk's debt reaching £10tn i thought i would find out what £1tn looked like to get some perspective on it but the nearest i could get to it was $1tn- http://www.pagetutor.com/trillion/index.html And for further reading may i suggest the following - http://www.guardian....economy-decades http://www.businessinsider.com/complete-co...uestion-2010-11
  7. Hate the term PASTY, "why call a fish a pasty" Numnuts the lot of um.
  8. Another Fireline Crystal convert here. Excellent float control and gets the hook home each time, especially long trotting. Never experienced any tangles. In fact stopped fishing venues that have a ban on it, ( Timsbury ) as i dont like to use mono anymore.
  9. Thought i would post a link to the Avon Roach Project, to show the great work both Budgie Price and Trevor Harrop have been doing to increase the depleted Roach stocks on the middle reaches. http://www.avonroachproject.co.uk/index.html
  10. Hi jeepster I have a Husquarna 435 and i am cutting mainly Oak. Probably cutting about 35-55 logs an hour and have found i have to use more effort on the bigger logs than i use too. That said i have only done 2 hours work max.
  11. Hi Guys How many hours use should i get out of my chain saw, before i need to get the chain sharpen ? Have been using it to cut logs from 6in to 18in. Thanks
  12. Some lovely fish there tigger, well worth the 3 month wait. I too went out yesterday afternoon for a spot of trotting but only ended up with a 5lb pike ! But it was good to be out on the bank and with so much wildlife to enjoy too. Thanks for sharing with us.
  13. Thanks for the advice guys. I will try each one before taking Steve's advice. 12 days and counting.
  14. Lent my mate an old bivy of mine for a spot of beach fishing. Got it out yesterday and found the zips have salt water corrosion on them and i cannot get them free. I have tried boiling water, WD40 and have pick as much of the white bits out of the zips as possible. Anyone got any ideas of how i can free them please, as the zips are in the closed position and thus making the bivy un-useable.
  15. There are other similarities, as both found themselves in a lower division through mismanagement (at various levels). Ya, we know what that feels like ! Our turn down there now !!!!! PLAY UP POMPEY And may i wish you all the best of luck.
