  2. hello all Ive never really been a winter fishermen but theres a first time for everything but i dint no how to fish for carp in the winter i dint no if they eat more or less the only thing i do no is that they prefer fruity flavors more than fishmeal in the winter all help is helpful mike
  3. Hello jay i think your best bet is too buy a float and feeder rod. The float tip piece isn't as sensitive as a quiver tip but will do the job then theres the feeder tip piece this is good for barbel and bream i think that that is probably the best thing to do mike

  5. hi all sea anglers i have been sea fishing for about 2 years now but i never go during the winter, but now id like to start sea fishing during the winter and catch some decient cod. no firstly i dont no mutch about cod, all i realy no is that some of the best baits for them is, squid,lug worm. But i dont which method(s) will work to catch a cod any help ??? thanks mike
  6. connors black bream were blanteny luck jay lol and yer that probaly was my worst one too but the one at 3 oaks was quite bad too. for those that dont no me and basshead07 we are fishing partners and once we took too of our mates fishing and one of them (connor) had never been fishing before. and he went and caught too very small black bream, and ive bin sea fishing for 2 years now and i still havant caught one but thats mainly because i target bass thank you everyone thats replied mike
  7. hello all i was thinking about my worst fishing moments the other day and i think mine was.... i was fishing down a local lake while having a match with a few mates(the match was to see who could catch the most carp) and it thundered and rained, the rain was so hard that within about 5 minutes of it raining i was soaked, and i had to walk home with all my fishing gear, whats your worst fishing moment Mike
  8. in winter carp tend to go for fruity baits such as tooti fruity and strawberry boilies
  9. hi kestrel perch can be very hard to catch as pike can beat them to the bait but the way to do it is dead baiting or a lure there the only to ways i no im sure theres many more but these are very successful oh and another tip is if you do hook a pike be extremely careful hope this helps tights lines and hope theres a perch on the end of it mike
  10. if yuove only got a limited amount of money then argos has got some good carp rods there not the best of all carp rods but there good enough for beginners best to get your hooks and weights from a tackle shop if you thinking about doing nights then a good bivvy will help to hope this helps mike

  13. oh Janet when i said i was using tooti fruity and halibut and meant one on each rod i had tooti fruity to my right with pva bag full of the boilies and the left rod had halibut boilies with trout and halibut pellets in a pva bag and BUDGIE i thought carp feed loads before the realy cold seasons ??? thanks for replying
  14. hi all fishermen i went night fishing on Saturday night it was dry and cold and we didn't catch we was using carp rods and bit alarms, we used a semi fixed korda shock leader with tooti fruity and halibut boilies with trout and halibut pellets as ground bait using a pva bag the lake is called soak pond in Portsmouth http://www.portsmouthdas.co.uk/Soake%20Pond.htm its a lake full of weed and packed full of tench theres a number of big carp up to 30lb and the carp population is increasing now i need help on why i didn't catch if you have any suggestion then please Write back thanx mike finlay
  15. ive fished langstone which is just off hayling island and i use a running ledger with a size 2/0 hook and caught a fair few bass there i was using rag worm

  18. mines only 8lb 12 oz but only been freshwater fishing less than a year so im very proud
  19. when i next catch a ghost/koi im just gonna call it a matallic carp because of the mattalic silver/grey on there head
