  1. hello i have been wanting to no the answer to this question for a while now and the question is this.... is it better to fish for carp at night or during the day ?? i have never night fished for carp and ive had reasonable success during the day but i would like to try catching bigger carp thanks and tight lines mike
  2. spicy shrimp boilies or strawberry jam the strawberry jam boilies have a great sense of smell. but realy its all a matter of opion and different lakes, some lakes spicy shrimp may be a perfect boilie and it works realy well there and some lakes they might not work at all tight lines mike
  3. that looks like a lovley beach as my memory goes there a few rocks on the side of the beach and its faily deep water so if i remeber right than ill fish there

  5. hi all in august im going on holiday to palma nova in Majorca i was hoping to do a spot of fishing from the lovely sandy beaches but i really dont no what method to use and what i could catch there if anyone can help that would be great tight lines and bending rods mike Finlay

  10. so should i cut up the boilies or just use hole boilies also which size boilies and which flavour should i use
  11. i used a simple rig just a ledger with a hair rig with spicy shrimp boilies and 4 mll pellets for ground bait..... still cant believe i blanked
  12. all this information is great i may have to wait a while before i can start because of a tight budget. but if any one could tell the average price of the recommended rod and reels it would be great
  13. hello there fishermen i never usually use this forum as i like to do carp and sea fishing but i was watching Matt Hayes fly fish for trout on the T.V earlier this week and it inspired me to want to start it. now first thing is that i do not no any thing about fly fishing and thats why Ive started this topic. now all i want is to no what gear i need just to start secondly i would like to no how to catch a trout on a fly also while watching the T.V it looked quite hard to keep all the line in order with out it getting tangled so i would like to no how to avoid that all help is appreciated mike Finlay
  14. OK so its a matter of opinion IE. if the owner feels that keep nets harm the fish than they'll ban them

  16. OK just another quick question .... if keep nets do not harm the fish than why do some lakes ban them ???
  17. i think that if there gonna bring out that stupid law than they should make one all round fishing license for every type of fishing otherwise were going to have 2 different license's
  18. yer i brought some new bite alarms there and a new net a right bargain
  19. when i next go fishing I'm just going to remember how much each fish weighs and wright it all down and at the end of the session ill add up my total easy really saves me going out and buying a keep net
  20. hiya i was watching Matt Hayes the other day on discovery real time and he was using a keep net and i wanted to find out a bit about keep nets and how to use them. the only thing i no about keep nets are that they keep fish in them to weigh in at the end. i was jest wondering if any one has any other information on keep nets thanks mike Finlay
  21. yer i often fish in a small lake with a record fish of 26lb its kind of a beginners lake and in the summer i can catch carp up 15lb in there using floating bread but im looking for a new rig to try out at a new lake ill use your advise smalltincup to help me thanks mike
  22. ill should be safe i live behind portsdown hill in portsmouth i dont think the sea levels will rise that much
  23. so what you are saying is the most simple rigs can be the most effective ? and that different rigs and baits work better in different venues ? thanks smalltincup
