Hi all I have never even contemplated using backleads befor for one i dont no how to use them properly and i have read somewhere that they are not sensitive at all but i went to a lake in franc eand people were using them there to avoid boats (canoes pedalos ) and they were catching the fish one ogf the blokes caught at least 10 20's! in 5 days i am thinking of going for a session on my canal and this is probably were id use them! also catton park has a flat lake bed wich would also help wouldnt it ?? please shed some light with some pictures gaffer mate! cheers james

The problem is i cant go to my tackle shop and get a freel for the rods cus they dont sell them athe only shops that do sell them are miles away(15yrs old) thats ok though cus of mailorder but i wondered what u thought of these rods i like the greys butur views could change my views help me please

Greys prodidgy/fox xtreme/free spirit tamers Reels:shimano aerlex shimano titanos or 8000re's Please help me out lads i like all the above gear as for reels i think its gonna be the aerlex for rods i aint got a clue please help!!! i am definately gonna get one of the above but which one please help Cheers james

Hi all thanks for the help i am considering whether to go today i went for a walk round there were a few carpers asked them if they had caught one had a 17lbder a 20lbder and an 8 while the other had nothing one thing which i did find out is that it is very very weedy! has anyone got any tips for fishing in weed ? rigs baits (Pop ups bottom baits particles fluros singles or pva!!!??)i am thinking of having a few sessions here and a few sessions at another local water aswell which is catton park which isnt to hard anyone got any help for me weed problem!! please thankyou lads james

Hi all I am in a bit of bother my local club owns a lake which is 40acres and conatins aprrox 50-60 fish they go to around 25lb(some fish maybe uncaught?size unknown) but the water is massive and very very daunting has anyone any tips for a water of this size ive had a walk round a few times and seen the odd fish crash are theses worhty spots? what do you do when fishing a new water of this size please help !!! there are loads of island margins to fish to and gravel patches were the shallow water is james

Hi mate any groundbait will atttract carp but the problem is it attracts the roach bream tench and other species aswell althogh theres nothing wrong with a tench or bream or roach if you want to target carp specifically then you could use pellets or boilies or Dynamite baits marine pellet groundbait which i have found very good for attracting tench!!! aswell but tench are fish and a 10lb tench will be just as good as a 10lb carp but carp are my quest if you chooose carp experiment find out what works and what doesnt u never no u might find your catching 4-5lb tench and enjoying it more than waiting for that biggun or your using a single maggot and hooking several carp!! you neevr no with fish also a carp is a carp and the smaal ones and big ones will get atracted just the biguns will be more wary Cheers hope this helps im no professional so can someone nback me up?

Hi Im going to be using these for the first time when i go to france and needed help i have purchased the solid bags and was wondering how to present them do i hook em or put the ledger in the bag with the hook or do i cut a small hole dangle the hook from it woith the ledher in the nag any help would be great to prevent me from spilling me bait
  13. Hi i own a shakespeare contender carp got it for 28 pounds not a bad rod with 2.5tc i reccomend it also the shimano hyperloop 2.25tc is quite a nice rod for 30 quid cheers good luck jbt

I dont no how many of you have heard of these but ive neen told that they are very good with a fast breakdown and litlle feed properties in turn not filling the carp up so feds for longer periods and for around a fiver for 25kg!!! i ain't complaining if they actually do work anyone used em and to what effect thanks lads jbt ------------------------------------------------ next week im off to france ill be fishing in the sun(35*c were im off) oh what fun !!! sorry for that little outburst :cool:
