I have not used the reel myself but fished with a friend who had just bought one of them. It was the bigger sized version with no levelwind. Retreive was great as we were fishing 300ft of water on the West coast of Scotland but when we upped the baits to accomodated the Spurdogs we were fishing for the reel could not handle large baits being blasted a long distance. So if you want it for normal beach casting with 3 hook flappers or such like the above reviews look good, but if your going for big baits at distance you won't go far wrong with the Slosh or 535mag. Lenny forgot to say think I've made up 50 or 60 grippers so if we run low Neil will have to put on his diving gear and recover our loses. Have put wire through most of them and now I'm kin bored so if we get down to those without I'll take some spare wires. Backs chuffin killing me so the wife said I surely can't fish with a sore back, winching fish up from the LA depths so I booked a massage to fully prepare myself. If that fails I'll act like it doesn't hurt til we leave then dose up on the pain killers . LA waits for no man. Neal The Skink

Just had a phone call from somewhere in the North Sea. A very irrate small person saying the internet has been down for 4 days know and he needs his AN LA fix . Axe, Living in Sunny Scotland I'm a little bit far away for a fishing session but I have fished Brighton once. I have read many a catch report from that area and I wish I could fish your coast some more. There will be plenty of people to help you out with you new found sport. But as has already been said, fish idents, good pliers for unhooking and cleaning up after yourself will keep you on the right track . NFSA will keep you right on the sizes and with insurance which you will hopfully never need but would be a blessing if it all goes wrong . Neal The Skink

Just aquired a spinning reel from the US off ebay for under £6. Its like the ones they use for bass with the thumb bar release thing. Will give that a go with some braid on and with jellyworms for any fish that'll take em. Neal The Skink
