  1. Anyone got one of these knocking about. I'm after the orginal 12', 1.5 test version, not the newer rouge model......
  2. Hi Roy, hope to see you there bud. As for fishing, I really dont think it matters to much. Catching plenty when getting the time to fish locally, just nothing big. Any of the local rivers or drains hold pike. I'll speak to you further on tuesday.
  3. Tuesday 11th November sees local big fish specialist James 'The doc' Gardner, talk on his piking experiences. From his methods of tackling the big open trout waters to his more delicate approaches to smaller waters. James has caught pike from many venues around the country and his pike fishing exploits have accounted for pike upto 37lb. All talks start at 8pm, although it’s advisable to be there early for to catch up with friends and fellow members in the bar beforehand and of course to grab a seat. As usual the venue is...........Kings Head 1 High St East Hoathly BN8 6DR The region asks for £2.50 for PAC members and £3.50 for non members. As always there will be a raffle on the night with some top prizes on offer and the chance to buy a copy of the PAC book PAC 30. Further details on the blog
  4. Its a hard life indeed Jeff ( lucy for some face!) Shame you can't make twill be a good night for sure. Thanks Budgie, one has to try. Might even put one on myself next year ( how to blank in Sussex i might call it And as for watching the Hammers, i dont know what to say really Roy, some people have no taste
  5. Next Tuesday being 8th April see's Sussex welcome Thames Gateway Regional Organizers Steve Gould and John Synnuck. Both are exceptional anglers with a vast array of specimen predatory fish to their names. As well as their piking exploites there's a foreigne twist with Tarpon from the Florida keys, Mahseer from India and the giant wells catfish getting a mention too. I am reliably informed this is one of the best predator talks going, one not to be missed. Normal venue being the Kings Head at East hoathly, starting at 8pm so be there early. £2.50 members £3.00 non members. This will round up the region for the 07/08 season so I look forward to seeing you there. Back to top
  6. Point taken Lyn, in future I shall use less sexist headings. I hope no offence has been caused. Purely down to the fact I have yet to have one lady turn up to a talk, more than likely owing to the fact there are very few female pike anglers around.
  7. No Sussex anglers interested in this one? Whilst the talk is directed towards targeting pike, its full oftop tips on how to go about targeting any predatory fish be it perch, chub or pike. A night not to missed for any angler who throws the odd lure around
  8. Gentleman, On tuesday 11th March well known and respected local angler Andy LUSH, proprietor of the friendly fisherman, will be providing the region with his talk on how he goes about his lure fishing, and the technicalities behind it. Andy has caught come cracking fish along the way and his knowledge of lures and how to use them efficiently is up there with the best of em. From trolling the reservoirs, to vertical jigging all will be revealed, with some other fish included from further afield. As usual the Kings head at East Hoathley will be the venue, talk starting at 8. £2.50 for PAC members & £3.50 for non members. Raffle on the night, as well at the PAC30 book for those who wish to buy a copy. See you there
  9. Top Post that Budgie, couldn't agree more. Wow what a night, Andy you did us proud. That had to be one of the best if not the best talk I have ever seen. The talk was obviously from the heart, had the right mix of knowledge and laughter, not to mention history attached to it. Spot on mate, there will be plenty more to do in the near future no doubt It was good to meet a number of you, and my thanks to all of you who took the time and effort to attend / support the region. However special thanks has to go to Mr Frost. Not only did Andy take a couple of days off work but drove the 320 mile round trip and proceeded to refuse ANY expences / fuel money etc. I quote Andy in saying ' it's my way of putting back into the sport '. He asked me to put any extra money towards Pete's charity. Theres not many around as charitable as that these days, hats off to you bud. This means with the raffle money Region 70 PAC will be donating a modest £110.00 http://www.justgiving.com/peterfoster2 Once again thanks to all for making it a top night, the region is on the up. Watch this space
  10. Tomorrow night guys, gonna be a good one. Hope to see you there
  11. Hi Roy, Not fished wierwood but its on the list !!! How you fishing it, boat or bank, baits or lures? As for the River, Livebaits are the way forward there, and keep mobile. It pays to venture further afield from the bridge. See you on Tuesday and i'll gladly tell you more. Andy will be giving a few pointers, which being a tidal river will be more than appropriate, and put extra fish on the bank Are you a PAC member, loads of advice on there with quite a number of anglers who fish the waters you've named. PAC 30 books on sale too, which has a few local wackers in it, by some local anglers and how they were caugh, worth every penny of the 25 notes.
  12. Good stuff Jeff, a step in the right direction joinng the PAC. Its hard to belive that in this day and age clubs are still looking to cull strech's of rivers on the ill perceived idea that it will improve thier fishing. There are a number of members who are based around West Sussex, so your not alone! See ya there.
