  1. Hi Bob, You need some storm caps fitted, suprised it didn't come with any if they supplied poles. They are available at most tackle shops, to see what they look like goto http://www.gardnertackle.co.uk/welcome.htm and look under accesories. I think I paid about £10 for mine, there are a number of different types on the market but they all do they same thing.
  2. The hub you removed does it have its own power supply or does it takes its power from the motherboard?
  3. I've tried the maggots, they are different to the ones sold by Enterprise Tackle in that they are a very, very soft rubber/latex type material, because of this they are much more life like certainly to touch. But one of the features I use artificials for is that small fish shouldn't be able to destroy all your bait before a bigger fish gets there, unfortunately with the "maggots" being so soft they get torn of the hook as easily as real maggots so it defeated the object as far as I was concerned, probably if you float fished or similar they would be great.
  4. Tangler If you go to the link Gray gave you http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/drivers/ and enter CT4780 as the product code in the Search by product code box it will pull up the drivers page for that card the win98 drivers are towards the bottom of the list. DONT put in a space between the CT and 4780 as they do in their example as it won't work if you do.
  5. Try http://www.vcam.com.tw/download.htm
  6. Using BT broadband recorded Actual Speeds 446Kbps Downstream, 219Kbps Upstream.
  7. Try http://www.landlinephones.co.uk/summary_fa...ax_machines.php slightly cheaper than sound waves, if you give the owner a call he can usually answer most questions about phones and am sure he will be able to sort one out that meets your needs.
  8. Sounds like you've only installed the standard windows vga video driver rather than the correct one for the video card. You need to have a look at the main chip on the card and download the appropriate driver for that particular chipset eg SIS,S3,ATI etc. some manufacturers you will also have to note the chip number as well as the type but others do one download for all their chips. http://www.driversguide.com/ are a good place to find drivers if you can't find or know the card manufacturers web site.
  9. which isp are you using and what type of connection is it? Some such as ntl cable need setting up differently to others when sharing.
  10. “Probs start when the extension is pluged in to the filter creating one line to the phone in the hall and one line to the PC up stairs.” Not 100% sure from your description you are using the filters correctly, originally the broadband filter had to be fitted to the master socket, and the extensions were all run from that socket, which ment moving your master socket to wherever your computer was but with the new self installs you are supposed to split the phone line prior to filtering them so you end up needing 1 filter for every phone you have. 11. A program I find quite useful for checking mailboxes can be downloaded from http://www.kempston.demon.co.uk/smb/ it allows you to look at the messages in your mailbox on your isps server without downloading them you can then delete or download individual messages. I've used it often to sort similar problems to yours. [ 31. October 2002, 06:53 PM: Message edited by: Paul_H ]
  12. Hi Dom, Like you I've also been looking at these reels as I'm looking at changing my reels. One of my mates bought a pair of the 10000's not long after they came out and has not been able to fault them but he only fishes small waters (no more than 5 acres) and only for carp. Reason I have hesitated in buying them. 1) The clutch is at the back (like most bait runners)and I fish overseas for other fish as well as carp and have heard stories from experienced anglers that rear clutches are not as reliable as front ones and can break especially if fishing for cat fish. 2) Possibly want a big pit type reel (should allow me to fish further out, and deeper waters), the disadvantage with these are they are heavier and bigger. Haven't decided myself the 10000s seem great reels, just feel I might be better buying a big pit type as the price difference is only about £30 if you look at the Shimanos, and they will cover me for more fishing situations. The new Daiwas sound good but they are twice the price (even discounted). In an ideal world I would buy both but can't justify the expense. The reel I use and like is the Shimano BTR-6500A (don't think they are now sold in the uk)which is another baitrunner with a front clutch but is smaller than the big pit but not as small as the 10000s I suspect if I only fished uk waters I would have bought the 10000s by now. Hopefully there will be others on here who can help us further.
  13. Never really been overly concerned about global changes until I saw todays 10 day forecast for my area http://www.weather.co.uk/weather/local/UKXX0215 compared with http://www.weather.co.uk/weather/local/UKXX0115 not very far away I wonder what is going on. 12ºC daytime -20ºC nightime is definetly not normal. As no doubt it will have been changed (corrected or at least I hope it's not correct)by the time most get to read it this is the forecast for Brighton/Worthing -------------------------------------------------- 10 Day Forecast Worthing, United Kingdom (BN11) Last Updated Friday, 25 October 2002, at 17:57 British Summer Time (Friday, 16:57 GMT) Max © Min © Tonight 25 Oct Showers / Wind 3°C Sat 26 Oct Partly Cloudy 14°C 9°C Sun Index: 2 Minimal Sun 27 Oct Cloudy / Wind 13°C 4°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Mon 28 Oct Partly Cloudy 13°C 4°C Sun Index: 2 Minimal Tue 29 Oct Light Rain 7°C -7°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Wed 30 Oct Scattered Showers 8°C -7°C Sun Index: 2 Minimal Thu 31 Oct Partly Cloudy 8°C 1°C Sun Index: 2 Minimal Fri 1 Nov Cloudy 13°C 4°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Sat 2 Nov Cloudy / Wind 13°C -13°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Sun 3 Nov Partly Cloudy / Wind 12°C -20°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal ------------------------------------------------- and for Portsmouth, 10 Day Forecast Portsmouth, United Kingdom Last Updated Friday, 25 October 2002, at 17:45 British Summer Time (Friday, 16:45 GMT) Max © Min © Tonight 25 Oct Showers / Wind 6°C Sat 26 Oct Partly Cloudy 14°C 7°C Sun Index: 2 Minimal Sun 27 Oct PM Showers / Wind 14°C 6°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Mon 28 Oct Partly Cloudy 12°C 4°C Sun Index: 2 Minimal Tue 29 Oct Light Rain 11°C 4°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Wed 30 Oct Scattered Showers 11°C 4°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Thu 31 Oct Mostly Cloudy 12°C 5°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Fri 1 Nov Mostly Cloudy 13°C 6°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Sat 2 Nov Mostly Cloudy 12°C 5°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal Sun 3 Nov Scattered Showers 12°C 5°C Sun Index: 1 Minimal
  14. Got one from Wickes a few years ago, as my cellar is damp, really good at extracting moisture and really quiet to begin with but after about 3 months, when the fans had run in a bit, it definetly became louder and now sounds very similar to a heater fan on slow speed, which some people would find annoying at night others wouldn't. Unless damp as opposed to condensation is your problem I personally would look at alternatives eg. fitting air bricks to improve air circulation
  15. Have you reset the CMOS, normally moving a jumper or remove the battery? Is the motherboard set up for that processor, ie jumper settings etc, check on the motherboard manufacturers web site, it might not be set to autodetect the cpu.
