hi, i am going to Brighouse bay at the start of august and i was wondering if you guys could help me out. im not quite sure what rod and reel i need for this fishing, as i will be fishing at brighouse bay point about 15-20mins walk from the campsite... i know that i could be in for huss, hounds, dogs, bass, pollock, cod and loads of others...im not quite sure what rod and reel i need as i will be bottom fishing obviously with the water being quite deep, i need a good steady strong rod and a good reel fixed spool or multiplyer. also what kind of weight, strength line and rigs would i need.. please, any info is appreciated , also if you could supply me with some links of the kind of rod and reel i need... i currently only have a shakespeare beach caster with a fixed spool reel, ..

im looking to get a cheapish rod and reel for spinning for pollock and macky...will any of these be decent enough? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/9ft-Shakespeare-Spin...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-ZETA-SPINNING-CO...bayphotohosting

yeah you'll never forget that fish, ive made a similar mistake, i forgot to put my bait runner catch over so that if i got a take it would let the line go...so after casting out withing 25mins i got a bite and my rod stand with another rod on it got pulled over..luckily the weight of the rod pod stopped the rod from going anywhere .... what you should try is what john wilson does..take off the bail arm, and put an elastic band next to your reel and just put a little bit of line under the elastic band so that you can see if you get a take..

im quite the novice at carp fishing, but i've found that my night fishing has been more productive than my day fishing, and i find that using both bright and smelly does work along with PVA bags of a few pellets, hemp and groundbait. What i usually do is use a mixture of bright and smelly baits on each rod, after an hour or 2 i often switch over and try a new mixture, but your water could be different to mine as my water isnt really that big.

the carp range from 1lb to 15lb at the biggest.

really all i want is something cheap for when i go fishing there , so would something like do for using a waggler float? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/part...FISHING+ROD.htm

ive just recently found out theres a smallish lake near where i live that is stock with carp and bream, but the only method used there is the waggler float due to the size of the lake itself, now what i was wondering is, do you need to use a waggler rod to be able to use the waggler float method? as i only have my 12ft carp rods. i do have 2 reels that i use for float fishing on a float rod, but what i want to know is wil it be alright using my carp rods and my float reels together for waggling?, the only float rod i have left is the same as this one. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/kingfisher-float-rod...bayphotohosting

has anyone ever fishing off Balcarry Point , i am going to a camp site in the summer near there and was thinking of getting out the old sea fishing gear, and i was just wondering what fish to expect and baits and methods to use.

yeah i agree, but i did go around the same time last year, and around 17 degrees weather, just about the same as last year and i blanked at least 4 times, but you never know, carp are pretty mysterious fish when it comes to feeding, because they'll feed when it bloody well suits them lol, some days you can catch 10 or more in a day at that venue, its a nice quiet venue which is situated behind the lakeside inn which is a pub, so after a bad days fishing you can always pop in for a pint or two to drown you fishless day in.

i wouldnt mind buying some from you if you would be open to tht

i was reading an article in anglersmail a few weeks ago about white chocolate boilies being the bait of the summer, now after i finished reading that article i got myself some white chocolate boilies and when to a water close to where i live, previously i had blanked 3 times in a row, but i went on thursday armed with my white chocolate boilies and low and behold i came up with a 14lb mirror carp. now has anyone else tryed these before? have you had any decent results?
