  1. yeah went out on a boat from there for the day, barra after barra better fishing off the rocks....good reports from paradon thats the day trip i will be making this year... did you speak to the entertainment manager phillipe we fished with him regulary he,s one of the day entertainers and dancer... good fisherman.
  2. when you say causeway do you mean the bridge doen the road????????
  3. went there last june, its fab, take proper gear for big fish, snapper, tarpon , jack, bara cow fish, permit and bones.. lots of areas im off again in june... take avon skin so soft for the mossies its cheaper and much better than geet
  4. do you know if the other pier down the beach has gone
  5. i stayed at the melia just down from the daiquairi
  6. dont bother with the long line get a car battery and connect thin wire, connect this to a set of prongs and drop it over the side stunns everything that swims by.you can clean up if you use it in a fish nursery....
  7. white lacy knickers are really good, a pair of your nans tights and a news paper to sit on..
  8. I fish the fly aswell. the bones off the hotel beach were easy to catch, shoals of about 50 going up and down the beach most of the day.. i bought shimano4500b from america on ebay, they £90 over here £35 they have a good review for tarpon etc coped easy... the thing is to have drag light for the first run..i had 60lb wire trace only 12" bought from lesley of lutons they were great... i'm going again in june.. the small tarpon wer,nt in the lagoon outside the hotel as the water level was low they had moved on.
  9. Tony, yep pilar what a area, we were lucky the one evening to be there when the tarpon were hitting a shoal of sardines we hit into tarpon after tarpon, the runs were electric and when a fish threw the popper another 1 jumped on straight away... paradon is the place the mecca for the big fish. we off to the same resort in june... for the chap who is going you must take braid 60lb plus and a couple of spare spools... the snowbee deep blue tarpon travel rod is a great choice or the shimano travel beastmaster.. they both handled 100lb plus fish... you can catch the bones on light spinning tackle with some prawn.. the best guide is a bloke called donesky...
  10. fished guillermo last june, caught bone from hotel beach and the better fish the cow fish, but wow the tarpon were fab , hooked into numerous but only landed a few, the best experiance ever... apart from the right tackle take stuff for the mossies
  11. A good starter for any begginer is the new nintendo Wi game thats just out its for big bass fishing in a kayak, its fab you sit in your yak on the floor, paddle cast land fish and its just like being in a yak, it even takes into account wind and currents. Its a laugh buts its the next best thing to the real thing and only costs 39.99.
  12. Ive, heard about this spot on the coast of Oban, its said to be the mecca to drop your anchor in. anybody been to poah bay or near it????
  13. I use the tesco abs ball They are huge but cheap at only 4.99. Good thing about them is the dual purpose if you fall in, they will keep you afloat. Also the shipping spot you easy hope this helps.
  14. On a seriuos note the fishing over there is out of this world, but one note of warning if anyone goes on a days fishing with a guide make sure you get a fixed price before you commit, cost me £380 for a day. Had an £80 fuel bill on top of trip. The fishing though was out of this world. Even caught a pelican who couldnt ignore my toby in the water (have you seen the size of those things and nastier than a pit bull)
  15. here,s some foto's of the area. first 1 is me doing a rex hunt down the mangrove. Her's the accomodation, fully air con really close to the beach all mod cons. you'll all love it. You must give me alot of notice with the dates you will want to stay as i am expecting lots of interest mainly because we all know how good the fishing is in mexico.not only are you close to the sea but also close to the forest where you will see all the beautiful wild life ( there are some really beutiful flies really small ones and they are really tame they land all over you.
