  1. Hi Dave, spinning rods tend to be shorter and stiffer in the mid section than the longer softer dead bait rods, in addition most serious pike angler (that counts Mark out ) use mulipliers for spinning and fixed spool for dead bait as these cause less snatch at the start of a cast. But I have recently bought a 9' 6" FOX Multispin for my kyak fishing. cast 20-60 gram although I think you should be able to cast about 80 grams no problem, for around £35. The usual quality from FOX linned rings, spigot joint, carbon blank. I fish with lures and troll large dead bait with them, long enough for control, short enough for the kayak. I have far more expensive pike rods in my collection but I would recommend these for general purpose over any of the others, I think its one of the best value rods out there Bb
  2. Thats just silly, How is he going to carry a gate Bb
  3. Try taking an old length of carpet with you, drape it over the fence to protect the hull.
  4. Can't send you a PM phone 01733 342626 for details Pete
  5. Yep, I'm an idle bastard too Bb
  6. You dont need to prepare, your still going to catch more than the rest of us
  7. As I see it, it doesn't make the report any less honest if the kayak is free, on loan, a gift or discounted . In fact if you have just spent the thick end of a £1,000 on your new kayak and fittings, then I would be supprised if the report is unbiased and honest. I have read more about the rigging, sailing, paddling, fishing and using the Trident in both fresh and salt water, than I have on any other Kayak, surely that must be a good thing? What even more important is the reports are by fishermen using it in these waters. This helps to make an informed dicission, do I want one or not. I am sure that there is several of us on these forums, wished they were able read indepth reports about their kayak before parting with their money. Bb And before you ask, yes I am happy with my BGP and no I don't want a Trident, not even free. Like the look of the P13 though
  8. I live in Peterborough, if you fancy doing the eastern meet, send me a PM and I'll give you a lift, theres room for another yak on my trailer. Bb
  9. Never mind, Richi might be able to help you out at the weekend PS Your still doing the cooking by the way.
  10. Mark, thats a bit harsh mate, catching the fish is the easy part, its the photos I cant do, perhaps you can help me out at your eastern meet this weekend?
  11. As you know Mark, one of my other hobbies is shooting, I too have killed, fish, feathers and fur. I enjoy hunting in all its forms, but I only take what I can eat, that doesn't mean filling the freezzer or suppling half the street either. I do not agree with killing for trophies and in the present "anti everthing" climate, I think that it is irrisponsible for the angling press to allow photos of this type to be shown. We all know this sort thing goes on for what ever reason and however you want to justify it but why give the anti brigade ammunition. Bb
  12. With a bang stick, a metal rod with a shotgun or rifle bullet at the end. Jab it in, off it goes. Unfortunately a common piece of equipment used by some big game (small minded) fishermen in the U.S. Bb Oh yes, cut the fins off, remove the jaws and throw the rest away
  13. The capture of a 375lb shark from a kayak is quite an achevement, having a photo in the international press of two dead shark draped over them, is not Bb
  14. Photos not very clear but it is covered in teeth marks from the last monster it caught, a pike at least 6 inches smaller than the lure, Bb
