As I see it, it doesn't make the report any less honest if the kayak is free, on loan, a gift or discounted . In fact if you have just spent the thick end of a £1,000 on your new kayak and fittings, then I would be supprised if the report is unbiased and honest.
I have read more about the rigging, sailing, paddling, fishing and using the Trident in both fresh and salt water, than I have on any other Kayak, surely that must be a good thing? What even more important is the reports are by fishermen using it in these waters. This helps to make an informed dicission, do I want one or not. I am sure that there is several of us on these forums, wished they were able read indepth reports about their kayak before parting with their money.

And before you ask, yes I am happy with my BGP and no I don't want a Trident, not even free.
