  1. If you want some specialist wines, cheeses, etc., its worth it just as a day out, but for loading up for a family party its no longer economical. It will be cheaper to buy party beers and wines at your local UK supermarket.
  2. When I check out a Sellers feedback I concentrate on any negatives, most are usually pathetic complaints and wouldn't put anybody off the Seller. This sad little trog did spend £0.99, I bet he hasn't slept a wink since doing so.
  3. Was your mate FRED out there looking at properties ?
  4. I agree entirely, we don't own the beaches. This part of the Council's information says it all "(about 500m out of almost 5km)". Lets not go rushing about tilting at windmills.
  5. Mind blowing. http://www.squidoo.com/matchstickkits
  6. No, no, no, you are not playing the game properly. Its a hypothesis, you have to use your imagination to move into the scenario I described and give an honest answer. How else can we debate this for the next few months and I can use my catchphrase, "The "Re" I believe in , is not "Rehabilitation", its "Revenge". It took me ages to work that out. I still have my Anglers Net fabric badge, have they appreciated in value ?
  7. So if "the poor young lad" wasn't insured, or licensed, your Father would have been happy to not support a police prosecution and pay for all the damage either out of his pocket, or through his own insurance ? The problem with motoring offences is that they tend to be black or white, you can't be speeding a little bit, you are speeding or not. You can't be driving just a little bit dangerously, you are either driving dangerously, or not. Etc. Change the laws if necessary, but don't criticise the police for upholding them.
  8. Scotland and Wales should both be granted full independance and then we should start digging two big trenches. I wonder how long their generous policies would last when they are footing the bills for themselves.
  9. Why post something that is supposed to be specifically for one member of this Forum ? Why not send him a PM, or email ? Oh, I am sorry, that wouldn't give you the exposure your ego requires.
  10. Thats strange, because if I visit daily I stay logged in, but if I don't visit for a few days I have to log in again and I never log out. Wasn't there a change of Server, or something similar some months ago ? It was after that I noticed this log in change. Anything that is different becomes an update in my book.
  11. I never log out, but after a couple of days it throws you out.
  12. After the recent update, if you don't visit the site regularly, you have to log in again (despite ticking the "remember me" box). As logging in is only relevant if you want to make a post, I often browse as an "annonymous member".
  13. I am currently using Firefox version 3.5.19. I did download version 4.0.0 and had a lot of problems (recounted in the earlier thread), now when I try to get updates to 3.5.19 it only offers me 4.0.0. I looked on Filer Hippo and couldn't find any relevant updates, any ideas where I can find them ? Incidentally, I notice there is a Beta version 5.0.0. out.
  14. I wouldn't use braid if you are seriously fishing for species up to 150lb in weight. All Barry says is true for fish up to about 50lbs, but for anything larger I find the give in mono makes the fight that much easier and there is less chance of pulling out of the fish.
  15. Because of the lack of immediacy on the news in newspapers, they are becoming more like magazines, with sections on health, wealth, travel, etc. Add some opinion and editorials on things that have happened in the last week, or likely to happen in the next week and thats about it. Although (at the moment) I still read a daily newspaper, I probably read less than 20% of the pages in it. I get my news from the Internet (BBC News, Sky News, etc) and the 6 o'clock TV news. If a particular item of news really interests me, then I will use the Internet to find as many versions of it as possible.
  16. He's not dead, someone has already seen him in the Tescos at Billericay. I think after all the shamble with Saddam Hussein, no "terrorist/despot" was ever going to be taken alive again.
  17. I am amazed there have been no comments on this excellent event, not even from the avowed Republicans on here. Due to an urgent appointment with some rooks, hell bent on destroying a newly planted maize field, I listened to it on Radio4, but saw the highlights on the TV evening news. What a well arranged day, an estimated million people on the streets in London enjoying themselves, a minimum amount of trouble and over 2 billion watching it worldwide on the TV. It may not be fashionable, especially on here, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, felt a very positive "feel good" factor and it confirmed my pride in being British.
  18. Thank you very much Sir, I will make sure to get one with a PSU.
  19. In the old days on some of the Medway Valley lakes they were more courteous, no waking the anglers up and shining lights in their faces. They just turned off the alarms, cut the lines and crept off with the rods, reels and alarms. Much more civilised. Somethings never change and there will always be pond life around like these scum.
  20. I have ample USB ports on my PC, but half of them are accessed from the front of the tower, which makes it messy with wires. The solution could be a USB Hub. One of the things that needs two USB ports specifically states, "do not use this item with USB Hub" , I assume this is because there is some sort of leakage/lower power via a Hub, as opposed to direct into the PC. Is leakage/lower power an issue with Hubs and does the amount of ports on the Hub have any influence (ie. the less ports the less leakage) ?
  21. If you have cat crap problems in your garden, get a Jack Russell. My Aunt had one that ate cat crap.....and cow crap..........and sheep crap........and other dogs crap.........you get the idea.
  22. Old John Leonard Orr was American, so that doesn't count. Their standard of both arsonist and fireman are far lower than ours.
  23. You shouldn't have put that whiting back.
  24. Thats a bit like suggesting that a prolific arsonist would make a good fireman.
