  1. thanks newt ,its for my mrs ,she bought a DAM 1012 at a car boot sale and wanted to know when it was made (she was looking for intrepids for me bless her)
  2. i think they just got peed of with my e`mails (i have sent 4) i sent one to shakespear regarding intrepid (they own the name) and received the same answer i think they are only interested in the trademark everything else is skipped.

  6. i have never forgotten (well in the last ten years) anything ,all tackle is always in the same place in my box ,rods are made up in the holdall ,everthing else is in a carryall ,but oneday (probably now) as i have tempted Grangers Law .....""anything i say ,the opposite happens or nothing at all "".......i will.

  20. all though i am am a Intrepid person i also love Ambidex`s ,there is a little bit of info on the ambidex site (youngs now masterline) so i emailed them to see if the had anymore info on the ambidex (mostly later versions) the reply sent was as follows: Dear Dave Many thanks for your message that was awaiting my return from a trip to the Orient. In taking over J W Young this company has primary interest in the ongoing production of centrepin and fly reels. Sadly we have no information on fixed spool reels.   22. my shed (years ago) kept getting broken into ,to annoy the culprits ,a metal i gallon can was aquired ,3 inch nails (about 20) were knocked into it from the inside (leaving all the nails sticking out)concrete was then poured into it and a metal ring left sticking out of the top and left to set. the can was then suspended about 3feet from the roof about 2 feet in from the door on a rope fastened to the ring, a thin piece of string was also tied to the ring. the can was pulled back into the "firing " position by using the long thin string which went through a ring fastened to the back of the s
