  2. "Chesters for the government to afford to cover the cost of everything that charities do then Income Tax would go through the roof. Then, from what I have gleaned through lurking on here for a while, apparently that wouldn't bother you cos you don't pay any." not if parliaments act was cleaned up stop immigration NOW not 1 case is valid (the law says immigrants should "hand themselves" into the first "safe" country they come to ,were probably the last country in that list. STOP supporting foreign aid ,very little reaches the people that need it most of it goes into the swiss bank accounts of the leaders. make polititions accountable for their decisions if a project someone proposes (like the star system in our village cost £58,000 to implement ,it didnt work and is going to cost £30,000 to uninplement) fails then the money HAS to be payed back by the person and their managers IN FULL.it will teach them to think of the outcome of their decisions not just the ego boost of proposing it. stop giving and stop writing off foreign dept ,if i or you took out a loan we would be expected to be able to afford it and to pay it back ,the lender would make sure we did.most of it forces the country to export goods just to pay the dept NOT to improve their own country. there are more managers in the NHS than there are beds ,thin out the overpaid managers to provide nurses (most of them know more than the managers anyway) here just a few ideas and theres hundreds more ,with the money saved it would fund all charities IN FULL.
  3. in times gone i couldnt go home because my rod tips were frozen into the ice in the margins ,yes your a wimp or on the other hand sensible
  4. "I can not believe that anyone would think like that, oh, he/she is only taking them fishing to get near them, that is so sad that you see it that way. If there are many more like you that think that way then we really do have a very sad society [[Frown]] " i think EXACTLY that and if EVERBODY thought that way we`d have less trouble with sicko`s mollesting (or worse ) our kids .All people involved even in the slightest with children or the feeble minded should be suspect ,the CRB is mostly pointless it only shows the stupid "part time" perverts who have been caught ,the real hard line perverts DO pass the CRB,DO take "tests" ,DO take positions of trust , DO seem above suspicion whether its the police ,the social services ,the clergy , or just seemingly harmless do gooders "helping" kids fishing or a person "running" a kids playgroup/community meeting place/sunday school/ETC/ETC/ETC , ALL should be suspect ,these people are known to be very clever and to "infiltrate" ANY organisations involving kids including the police (as in recent revelations) ,how many more times will we hear after a kid is mollested or killed people saying "i would never have thought that Mr/MISS or MRS XXXX would have done that they seemed so NORMAL ) OFCOURSE THEY SEEM NORMAL thats how they get away with it . my kids wern`t allowed to roam the streets ,we never had a baby sitter ,they never had parties ,they never went on school trips ,they never joined a club ,they never "slept over" at the time they were disapointed by my "harsh" upbringing and addmitted they hated me when they were kids ,NOW they understand i wasnt being "harsh" but "CAREING". THEY now know that a pervert lived 4 doors away (his identity and background changed by police and social services) not to protect children but to protect him  you can bet that a "neighbour" is a pervert in your area maybe they have a little "club" of their own and your kids are soon to be the "entertainment". YES we do live in a sick society maybe if parents stood back and asked WHY people would like to "help" their kids societies perverts would have a much harder time

"Chesters is promoting purse snatching!" no but teaching them to fish could turn them into "tackle tarts" purse snatching would increase in the desire for stainless waders or whatever , if the thought of kids fishing stops them commiting a crime is a nonsense ,after all one weve got them "hooked" who`s going to buy them the latest "hot" rod ,probably not their poor parents and certainly not social services ,purse snatching will still occur

"WHY do I or anyone else need to be a licensed coach when we are NOT doing it for any financial gain?" because it immediatly (in my book) puts you in the " WHY " league , i am not saying that if a person "passes the test" to get their diploma (or whatever) they are non perves ,i think that pervs would be the first to take it ,its the same old story of a big "clique" telling everybody else what to do OR ELSE ,pervs arn`t born with "child molester" tatood on their forehead ,they are well entrenched into society and are well known to wheedle their way into positions that are close to children the nfa has their own share of pervs as does all forms of recreation , my advice would be to stay clear of any kids its not worth the hassle ,i expect few anglers on here were taught to fish by an organisation however well meaning ,if we fish its because we do ,not because some kind lady or gentleman showed us how . anglers are born not made ,let the brats end up in an institution they can be interfered with just as easily there as on a river bank as the old addage goes "children are best seen not heard" in my addage its " children are best not seen nor heard "

    DRAG

"Good drags aren't so bad as the composit washers have greater grip. Plus, salty water in around the washers (and handle bearing on multi's) can corrode them over time." hence loosening them after washing
  11. we could not believe the paper about a cave up the road (mother ludlams cave),its been officially made part of a heritage site ,the gist is that this cave that was used by the monks of waverly abbey as a spring (and probably for eons before) has now a iron grill over it stopping anyone from entering ,for several hundred years it was a grotto (even mentioned by cobbet) and a mineral spring later (complete with cups on chains and seats inside ) at one time it even had a ornate floor .years of neglect lead to its demise and partly destroyed by charlie drake (not him personally but part of a sketch in the 1950`s) strange now its part of a heritage site the public cannot enter it ,before so it was open to all
  12. find your ex ,invite him back for a meal , hint that the ceilings falling down ,the thought of forgiveness (and maybe rumpy pumpy) will spur him to repair it ,once its done kick him out ,hey fixed ceiling AND a further turn of the screw ,what more could you want

  21. i blame "consultants" and "advisers" very highly paid "experts" who control the goverments  portmouth are the same ,they HAVE to go ahead with that tower otherwise it would cost the taxpayers £4 million NOT to build it ,another fine decision by our socalled public servents  [ 17. 22. TEN SHILLINGS that was a weeks wages in 1850 ,tell long dead victorians that and theyd spin in their graves (if they wern`t buried in a paupers mass grave ) because something goes to a charity does not make it worthy ,in a caring world there would be no need for charities the government would see the good they are doing and fund it ,give money to charities and you give the government the excuse to ignore them
  23. we had "star" traffic control system installed in our village ,the residents were "consulted" then their veiws were totally ignored ,the village councillors as usuall butt licked the higher etchelons who inturn butt licked theirs , at a cost of £58,000 (and i`v seen higher costs)a mini roundabout was installed at a "T" junction ,pinch points were installed at the local school (so you can buckle your wheels on unlit kerbs) the junction next to the twin bridges was changed so the traffic ran past the pub (cars park on both sides of the road )and one bridge was closed and the other traffic light controlled ,lots of grumbles followed in the local rag for over a year . NOW they have decided it was a waste of time and are going to restate the village to EXACTLY what it was before AT A COST OF £30,000 ,guess who i blame  Aldershot on the other hand has gone mini roundabout mad (although roundabouts there are no signs ,just give way boards  ) and are putting white lines every where ,marking bays where cars have always parked anyway, chevrons in the centre of the road which are so big you have to go on them to pass parked cars, whats going on  [ 17.
