  1. I'm a big windows 8.1 fan, but it is a bit like marmite, defiantly get the update to 8.1 makes the system a lot less clunky! For lack of a better word. Newt windows 10 will be a mixture of 7+8 in one screen with some really cool features, for example great news for me as the win 10 is coming out on all windows devices which allows much better syncing of settings and files, also I can play games on my Xbox one with people playing on a PC, and for the super techie it will allow iron man like use of your computer with hololens, good news is like win8 for the first year it's a free upgrade!
  2. If he is running windows 8/8.1 and is logged in to a Microsoft account he can go to "forgot password" section of outlook to change it
  3. Unfortunately there are a lot of what known in the trade as "box shifters" but there are guys and gals who do actually love technology and want to know all about it. I am one of them lol not going to claim to have the knowledge of yourself but I am still happy to help if I can
  4. Hi tench, Any chance your using a Lenovo? Only reason I ask is I work for currys and am windows 8 certified and we had this problem with lenovoz manufactured before dec 12 (this will be on the side of your desk top) manually downloading updates is the correct procedure and this should fix the problem. Sorry about the lateness of the reply but feel free to ask any windows 8 questions Cheers Ian
  5. @jimpy0 were not all "grabbing box shifters" who work in currys or pc world. Most of us do actually work for the customer. It's not unexpected in a large organisation to get some idiots ( yes I do realise there are some around) but your shouldn't tarnish us all with the same brush. Cheers
  6. Hi guys, Google chrome seems to be using this programme as a default search engine and I can't get rid of it iv looked and it's not a program I can uninstall, I've run my AV (trend) and Iv run malwarebytes in normal windows and safe mode but neither has found anything. I'm also unable to return the pc to a time when I knew its not on there could this be down to the "bug" Any help would be good Thanks
  7. When you say open a ISP do you mean a mobile internet data plan? If so then no you don't have too, they will work off any wifi network but of course if you do want Internet out and about you can get Mifi devices ( items that create personal wifi) that you can use pay as you go or on contract to give you Internet on the iPad you can buy a micro sim that goes directly into it (like a phone) and will give you Internet on a pay as you go or contract basis. As for different devices I LOVE my iPad and wouldn't change it for anything other than a new windows tab but unfortunately I don't have the budget to get one when they are released lol do you have a budget you want to stay within? And what do you want it for? I.e films, games , surfing or work purposes
  8. Hi guys, As there is normally rubbish on tv I tend to watch a lot of fishing videos on you tube and I have subscribe to some but found there are a lot of idiots about so was wondering does anyone on here have a fishing channel? Or know of any good ones Cheers Ian
  9. I think it's a perfectly reasonable expectation to take away them from the wealthy, I mean I'm sure the day that lord sugars chauffeur turns up late and has to take the bus he will have enough change in his pocket to pay the fare. I'm more annoyed that it won't effect certain members of parliament because it was agreed when the two parties merged, funny how they forgot about the university fees in that agreement lol
  10. Hi guys Thanks for the responses, (and sorry for the avatar theft lol) Phone I think it is partly the mad scientist syndrome I'm dealing with, I like the idea of catching fish on something I've created and hopefully something that someone hasn't tried maybe so something out of the ordinary, I had maybe marmite flavour has anyone ever tried that before? Also Iv read that nutritional value is important too and was wondering has anyone ever tried using the protein shakes as additives? Cheers guys
  11. Hi guys, I've read previous topics about boilie making and there all about what to put in. Im a major novice at boilie making only previously having made one batch but was that long ago can't remember if they were successful lol. So essentially my question is I have read about all the things I should look at to put in the mix but is there any obsolute no no's, I understand this probably a very wide topic but any help would be good. Cheers guys P.s struggling to get hold of soya flour so wondering if there is a substitute
  12. I think it can depend on how much you want to spend to start up again, you can buy some cheap start up kits from most retailers including places like sports direct to my shock lol dragon carp tend to be ok to buy from as you can get some good bargains from there.
  13. It is a very sad situation and one that will always cause arguments personally I think he should have the right to end their life, but I don't think it's fair that a doctor should be told that they have to "kill" another human being other than going against everything they get taught about doing all they can to save people's lives what about going against their own morality or religious views?
  14. I've heard of this problem before, I believe the first mistake was picking up a play station when everyone knows an Xbox is better the second mistake was taking it home
  15. Only a few floats and disgorgers, on the flip side of this what is the worst thing you've ever left behind I left a float rod behind once leaning against a wall. Gutted!
  16. My dad is going to be driving through France this summer and he said he picked some of the breathalysers up in halfords he also mentioned that the French had banned satnav with speed camera alerts
  17. was planning on using some artificial bread next week, think il just pack a loaf now instead lol
  18. As he has a violent past I think he should be banned for life, young kids look at footballers as role models and his behaviour on and Off the pitch is disgusting for a role model. And it is about time that the fa made an example of someone to prevent others acting out violently against other players. The million dollar question is after this ban say he stays at qpr or another clubs signs him will it change his attitude?
  19. If your worried about monthly fees knowhow movies do pay per view service for tv shows and films so no monthly dd also you can buy them and store them on a cloud to watch them anywhere. Also unlike lovefilm or netflix they have films on day of release not weeks later.
  20. Iv seen some absolutely horror stories with avg before I work for currys (please don't hold that against me ) and get customers come in with avg we scanned with kaspersky and they had 87 viruses it was the free version and don't have any personal experience with the paid version but it does do a job and defiantly agree with newt about one programme at a time. Also have only heard this from av reps at work and would gladly have some non bias advice, we have been told that If you have free avg your bank wont pay out if you have identity fraud against you not had any experience myself just wondering if anyone knows if this is true or not Cheers
  21. I wanted to know about a stretch of the royal military canal and emailed these guys enquiries@enviroment-agency.gov.uk they were really helpful and answered all my questions
  22. To answer the first topic. In this thread about forum regulars, as a relatively novice anglers personally I feel I don't have enough experience to comment on a level that would be helpful but can gain a lot from the answers given which is why I tend not to answer questions on the coarse thread but would more than happily answer questions in the technical help forum or shopping ones when it comes to some of the electrical items on there. Also in the second theme running through this topic about the same old questions coming up, I think it can be down heartening reading about people's excellent catches in the paper or indeed on this forum and it could be reassuring to know your doing the basics right and not that the angling gods are against you
  23. I read today that after fabrice muamba's cardiac arrest Aston villa ordered its players to have blood test done and have since found out that sylvan petrov has leukaemia, as bad as it is it's nice to know there are still good things that come from bad ones.
  24. I work in currys and we have a reserve and collect system and it can be a pain sometimes the system doesn't update and let us know before the customer comes in so we don't have a chance to ring and let them know. Lol I would say the problems we normally face are system related rather than staff, I do enjoy when customers come in and complains that A we don't have the item and B we hadn't rung them and it turns out they didn't provide us with a number lol
